A Long Gap

It's been a long time since I had any post in my blog. Been quite busy. Yes lot of things happened in the mean time and I need to get back to the track. Rails 3, Wordpress 3 etc. I have to update myself with these and get started again.

Ruby Twitter Gem : Usage in Rails Application

In my current project, there was a requirement to show the latest tweet in the home page and also an interface to send tweets from the same rails application using a particular twitter account.

A quick Google search showed maximum results on a gem named 'Twitter'

here in this post I am going to use this gem to pull the latest tweets as well as, implementing a simple interface to send tweets directly.

There are wide possibilities using this gem, like, you can follow friends, unfollow friends, delete tweets, send direct messages, create lists etc etc.

So first of all Install the gem:

gem install twitter

If you have created a test rails application, create a new controller and name it as 'TwitterPublish'

ruby script/generate controller twitter_publish

Now add the following code to your newly created 'TwitterPublishController'

Controller TwitterPublish < ApplicationController

  require 'rubygems'
  require 'twitter'

  def tweet
    httpauth = Twitter::HTTPAuth.new('twitter_username',  'password')
    @user = Twitter::Base.new(httpauth)
  end

end

In the above controller code, provide the required twitter login details.

Next create a tweet.html.erb file within app/views/twitter_publish

and paste the following code :

<% @ user.friends_timeline.each do |tweet| %>
  <%= image_tag "#{tweet.user[:profile_image_url]}" %>
  &nbsp; <%= tweet.user[:screen_name] %>&nbsp;<br/>

Now if we run the server, and check out the link http://localhost:3000/twitter_publish/tweets , we will find all the latest tweets from the people I am following will be listed down along with their image.

Next, we need a text box in the same view isung which we will be able to tweet directly.

add the following code at the top of app/views/twitter_publish/tweet.html.erb :

  What's happening ?

  <%= t.text_field :tweet %><br/>

   <%= t.submit "Tweet" %>

<% end %>

And to create the update we send as tweet through the text field, we have to add the following code to our tweet method in TwitterpublishController:

end

That's all, you can now tweet directly from your rails application.

I have also come across another gem for the same purpose named 'Twitter4R'

BukLuv is the platform which will answer all these questions straight away.
BukLuv is a web application which is dedicated to the book lovers. After registering with this site, you can go ahead and share your reviews about the books you have read and if you do not find the book after searching through the site, you can add the book to the system along with the review. There are many other features and you can get to know it completely from BukLuv Blog. This web application is built using Ruby on Rails framework and is hosted at HostingRails .

Myself along with my friend Nithin always wanted to come out with a web application of our own and we used to brainstorm most of the spare-time we get. And finally the idea of book review application sounded quite cool. And we wanted to make the concept of book review out of the box compared to usual book reviewing websites out there and hence the concept of Mini-reviews where user can write reviews with 250 character limit. Once initial plan for the development was set, we began with the implementation. BukLuv was live on march 15th 2010 and after a month with the help of web-developer and a friend of ours Jaseem, we were able to launch much improved version of BukLuv on April 15th 2010. We have got some positive feedback’s on the application and are looking forward to bring many book lovers into this to get to know their feedback’s on the application.

So far so good. But bringing the application into the notice of wide audience is a real task ahead and we are doing our best to achieve it via social media marketing. Check out the twitter page of BukLuv at http://twitter.com/bukluv and the facebook page here.

RubyConf India 2010 was one great success. Two days of valuable experience. I am a newbie to the Ruby Community. And I must say, this community rocks. With its wings starting to spread over India, it is indeed going to make a deep Impact. This Ruby Conference gave me and my friends an oppurtunity to interact with some of the great programming geeks of the world, like Ola Bini, Obie Fernandez, Nick Seiger, Satish Talim to mention a few. They are a real insipiration to a newbie like me.

User Verification Using Rails AuthLogic Gem

So here comes the month of march. You must be thinking what's so special about March and if you have started thinking about the same, well, please do let me know if there is anything special about March. For now, let me get the things straight for this post.

Few months ago(I assume in January 2010), I had written a post on Rails gem called "AuthLogic" for the purpose of user authentication.

Here is the link for that post if you do not know, what is AuthLogic all about.

With the help of AuthLogic, we created a beautiful user registration and login/logout features for a web application. Here, when a user registers, on successful registration he will instantly get logged in. But in most web application, that is not the case, We need the registered user to verify his account before his account is activated, and for that, we need to send a verification email with verification related info to the user. So in this post I will be giving you all the necessary information with codes, on how this feature can be achieved.

Add the following codes to your Model "user_session.rb"

class UserSession < Authlogic::Session::Base

validate :check_if_verified

  private

  def check_if_verified
    errors.add(:base, "You have not yet verified your account") unless attempted_record && attempted_record.verified
  end

end

What this does is, when user tries to login, it will check if the user is a verified user or not. Well, so how do we know if the registered user has verified his account or not? Yes, we have to create a new field in our User Table. Here is the migration file for doing that:

class AddVerifiedToUser < ActiveRecord::Migration

  def self.up
    add_column :users, :verified, :boolean, :default => false
  end

  def self.down
    remove_column :users, :verified
  end
end

On migration, new field called "verified" of type "boolean" will be added to the User Table in our database. Next, we will look into our controller which is responsible for creating a new user while user registers through our registration form. Well, while registration, the "create" method of "UserController" comes into the action, so we need to edit this file for sending verification information to the user's email:

    @user = User.new(params[:user])
    if @user.save
      @user.deliver_user_verification_instructions!
      flash[:notice] = "Registration verification email sent.Please verify your account."
      redirect_to root_url
    else
      render :action => "new"

  end

what does line number 4 does? it call deliver_user_verifications! method on the user object. So we need to create a new method in our "User" model:

Here in this method we see that "user_verification_instructions" method of class Notifier is being called. So we create that method in models/notifier.rb file

Ok, so you now know, what "user_verification_instructions" method of "Notifier" class does. It sends the email to the user. This method will look for a file called app/views/notifier/user_verification_instructions.erb so let us create it

here the variable "@url" will have the link which we have given as subject previously. This is how your mail will look:

So from the link, we know, it looks into "show" method of "user_verifications" controller. We will have to create this controller with following codes:

      @user.verify!
      flash[:notice] = "Thank you for verifying your account. You may now login."
    end
    redirect_to root_url

here there is a "before_filter" which will check if the link is valid. if valid it will read show method. The show method needs to verify the user. It is done by the "verfiy!" method which needs to be created in "User Model"

    self.verified = true
    self.save
  end

That is it. On successful verification, the verified field gets a value of one and thus, user will be able to log in. So have you guys tried any other ways of doing this. Please share your ideas with me.

Aah Well, I see that I have not written anything here for quite a while in the month of February.
The reason I must say is in this month I haven't touched anything special to pen it down. But the eager to write down something , is the result you see this post coming up.

You would enjoy this only if you are a Ruby enthusiast or a hardcore programming freak.

Nothing special, a few Ruby tips to share :)

Tip #1

You have a ruby program which you run though command, see the result in command and have a feel that, you would want the output to be saved in your computer in some text files. Here is what you can do while executing the program

ruby test_program.rb > output.txt

Tip #2
Using YAML to write string into a file and then load the same file.

About YAML:
YAML is a format for representing objects as strings. You can use other formats, but YAML is nice because it’s human-readable (and human-editable) as well as computer-readable.
YAML is not actually part of the Ruby core, but it is part of the standard distribution.When you install Ruby, you install YAML, too. But if you want to actually use YAML, you’ll need to import it into your program. This is really easy, with the require method:
Here is the code snippet which will create a text file and save the string:

RubyConf India 2010

Yes, It is happening in India. Ruby Conf India 2010, India's first RubyConf is happening in Bangalore in March 2010. RubyConf India is presented by the Ruby Community in India and supported by RubyCentral and the Innovation & Technology Trust.

Being a Ruby On rails developer, when I heard about this news, I was all excited and really wanted to witness this event. I was eagerly waiting for the registration to open, And on the day when the registration was open, I did not waste any time in grabbing a ticket for myself. Along with me my other Ruby on Rails friends have also registered for the event. Everyone at my work place is very much excited about this event, mainly because of the presentation of Project Fedena.

With the presence of some of the eminent personalities in this field like Chad Fowler, Ola Bini etc, it is going to be one of the most memorable days of my life. And indeed being a newbie into Ruby and Rails, this event is really going to boost me up in future.

Generating Calendar With Rails

Working on a Rails CMS based project using BrowserCMS, there was a requirement to have a page which would display a calendar for the current month and onClick of each date, it has to make an Ajax request to query the database table and update a portion on the same page.

Everything is fine with the requirement, but a Rails calendar with each date sending an Ajax request to the controller?

My initial move was to look for some Rails plugin which would serve this purpose. Had a thorough Google search on this. Time was ticking, I managed to find one or two Rails calendar Plugin, but when tried on my project, it did not serve the exact purpose of each date sending the Ajax request. No much help was there on this in any Rails based forum as well.

This finally made me to think of writing the code for generating the calendar of my own. It was indeed going to be a tough task. But I had no other choice left in-front of me.

I have shared the code for the same through my GitHub account.

There in the GitHub repository you will find only a controllers folder and a views folder. Well that's all we need to get this done. If you have a Rails project up and running, you can go ahead and generate this Calendar Controller and use the code and modify it, style it as per your own requirement.

Here what I have done is, in the "calendar index" page you can see the calendar for the current month, with links for next and previous months, so that you can have a view of all the months. When you click on the next/previous links, the months partial is being updated. Similarly, onClick of each date will update a test "div" with the value of month and date. You can apply any logic here and make it work for your purpose.

Custom Blog Post Reordering In WordPress

Wordpress is no doubt one of the best CMS around and with the awesome community out there contributing in all ways to make it the best of the best is really appreciative.

Well, few days back working on a wordpress project for a client, The client came up with some requirement and that was like, he would like to manually rearrange the Posts the way he wants and not the default date ordering of Wordpress.

But I had never heard about custom post order ever before untill the client mentioned about it and that made me look for the right plugin which would make this work out for me. And guess what, I came up with nearly 3 plugins which would serve the purpose.

I installed it on my test domain and checked it out. Whohooo! they worked and I settled with a plugin named Blog Reordering.

Installed it in the client's domain and then on client request documented the best way to use this plugin to reorder the posts and drafted a mail to him. Here's the mail which I prepared for the client:

As you want the posts to be reordered manually and do not want them to show up according to the date and time settings, We have a plugin named Post Reorder which will help us to the stuff of custom reordering of posts as we want.

Well, As it gives you the freedom to custom reorder the posts, Its kind of a manual work to reorder the posts as well.

And here's how you can achieve it:

1.Navigate to Blog Reordering section which is at the very bottom Settings in admin page of the wordpress.

2.Here you can find options such as "Blog reordering Settings", "Quick reorder by field" and "Blog reordering"

3. Let the first two option be as it is.

4. We need to worry only about the third option and that is where all reordering stuff takes place.

5.Here you can find all the posts listed down with the "ordering" numbed 1,2,....etc to the latest post you have up to date.

6.Now its all manual task, where you have to identify the right posts of each category and number them in the order you want.

For example:

You have 25 posts in personal category and all the 25 are randomly ordered and ordering number is also random according to the order they were posted.

Well, you need not worry about the random order each of the 25 posts of "personal" category has got, you can just go ahead and number them from 1 to 25 in the order you want them to display and that's it. When you check out the personal category page, all the 25 posts will be ordered the way you have set them. Now that's called absolute freedom!

Well, if there is no name to each of your posts, then it is kind of hectic knowing which posts is which one and the only option is to identify them via their ID's.

Share Source Code Using GitHub- It's Social Coding!

Done writing the codes of your current project? And is excited about it and want the whole developer community to know about your latest project? Then Lets Git It!

Yes, I am also equally excited about my latest project and I wanted it to share with the developer community through GitHub-Social Coding!

The application was developed using Ruby On Rails and hence the hosting provider is HostingRails. So I have my application running up there. So all I had to do was commit the source code from HostingRails into the GitHub repository.

I will be explaining the exact procedure that I followed to commit the source code of my application into GitHub repository directly from HostingRails.
I use PuTTy which is an open source telnet and SSH Client for the Windows and Unix platforms.

Since my application was hosted in HostingRails, I logged into it via PuTTy and I was taken into my root folder. If you are not aware of PuTTy interface, then I would say it is just a Unix Terminal for you to work on. So from the root folder I had to get in my project folder which I did using CD command.

Well before we do anything , a GitHub account is necessary or else where are we going to commit all our source code! So I did create a GitHub Account and I am all set for Social Coding.

Next I had to create a New repository.(See Images)

Once I provided all the information for creating the repository, I hit create-repository. And that's all. After I created the repository, I was redirected to the new repository page which had the basic information on how to commit the source codes.

here's what i did for committing the source code for my application.

In PuTTy, as i was already in my application folder:

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#

Next i had to initialize the git in my application:

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#git init
Initialized empty Git repository in /home/fedenac/rails/testing/.git/

Once initialized, I had to include all the folders and files.

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#git add .

And after that commit it

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#git commit -m 'any message here'

Then I had to add the remote origin

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#git remote add origin git@github.com:techslam/test.git

In the above command "git@github.com:techslam/test.git" is the URl which we find at the top of the page after successfully creating the repository.(See Image)

And finnaly we push it:

email@email.com [~/rails/My_Project]#git push origin master

And that's it. When I checked my repository all my source code was ready to be shared with the wonderful development community out there.

Moving along with BrowserCMS

As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that, the project I am associated at present deals with setting up a Content management System using BrowserCMS. Its been quite a some time I am involved in this project and in the mean time learnt a lot about this CMS. The best part is that, the CTO of BrowserMedia Mr.Patrick Peak would answer to any of your doubts related to BrowserCMS. I have had a lot of questions related to BCMS and most of them were answered by him in a matter of day. So Iam really thankful to him and really appreciate the work he has been doing.

This project is taking quite a bit of time to get it completed because of some special requiremnts from the client like setting up Multi Language functionality. Though BrowserCMS don't have a built in support for i18n(As told by Mr.Patrick Peak,CTO BrowserMedia), It was a huge challenge for me to bring some unique concept of Multi Language functionality in Browser CMS. Well, I did make a quite a bit of research on this and finally came up with indeed a unique concept to get this requirement done.
The concept has been explained to our client and is waiting to get his approval.

In the coming posts you can expect, the Idea behind setting up the Multi Language Functionality using browser CMS. So stay tuned. Till then CiaO

User Authentication in Rails : AuthLogic

Working on any web application, there is always a need to have user authentication system running in the application. Ruby on Rails is blessed to have a such an active community which always comes up with solutions to rails of any kind. For user authentication there is an awesome plugin called AuthLogic. I have used this plugin in an application I am currently associated with and it works like a charm.

In this post you can find step by step instruction on getting this plugin up and running in your application.

Installing AuthLogic

AuthLogic can either be installed as a plugin or as a gem. I would rather go with installing a gem. So from the command line:

gem install authlogic

After installing the gem, we will be creating a very simple rails application just to test the user authentication functionality via authlogic gem.

So from command line create a new application named user_authentication_demo

C:\>rails user_authentication_demo -d mysql

after the application is created, lets just go ahead and create a dummy controller dummy method in the controller and a dummy view. This is just to have a page up and running where we will be displaying the working of user authentication functionality.

So create a controller by:

C:\user_authentication_demo>ruby script/generate controller home index

You can add some dummy text in your app/views/index.html.erb file just for fun. Working on rails, you got enough time for fun stuffs !
(Make sure you have <%= flash[:notice] %> in there to get the flash messages)

Next open up the config/database.yml find athen replace the entire content here with the following code

development:
      host: localhost
      adapter: mysql
      database: user_authentication_demo_development
      port: 3307
      username: root
      password:

test:
      host: localhost
      adapter: mysql

production:
      host: localhost
      adapter: mysql

All I have done is removed unwanted junk of codes from there to keep it straight and simple.

Now if we run the server and go to http://localhost:3000/blog, we will be taken to the dummy page as shown below:

We will be adding the user authentication to the above page. In this page we will be showing "Register","Login" links if the user is not logged in and "Edit Profile","Logout" links if the user is logged in.

Next we need to create Model and Controller for Users. First we will be generating our User Model

C:\user_authentication_demo>ruby script/generate model user

After all the associated files are created, we will edit the migration file at db/migrate/20100103124423_create_users.rb and ad the following codes in it.

AuthLogic can pretty much handle fields called email, crypted_password, password_salt and persistence_token and hence we need not bother much about them So let's go ahead and run rake to create the database tables

C:\user_authentication_demo>rake db:migrate

Next we will have to edit the app/models/user.rb file and add the following codes in it

class User < ActiveRecord::Base
  acts_as_authentic 
end

This is to add the Authlogic to the class, without which it will be just a standard model class. Our next task is to create users controller. Also we require new and edit views, and hence we will make sure to create them through generators by the following command

C:\user_authentication_demo>ruby script/generate controller users new edit

Next we need to modify config/routes.rb file a bit and add the following line of code

map.resources :users

Now inorder to display the link for "Register" , in all the pages of your application add the following lines in your app/views/layouts/application.html.erb file(If you dont have application.html.erb file, then create it)

<%= yield %>

Next add the following bunch of code in app/controllers/user_controller.rb

class UsersController < ApplicationController

 end

  else

We will be putting the code for registration in a partial as we will require it for registration as well as editing. So create a patial file in app/views/users/_user.html.erb and add the following codes in it.

Now if we check http://localhost:3000/blog we will see the "register" link and if we click on the link, we will be taken to the registration form. If we click on the register button without entering any details, we will get the validation errors and if we enter valid data and then register we will be redirected to blog page. So far so good. next we will add a "Login" link next to "registration" link to let our users to login to the application. For this we have to create UserSession model to get the current status of our users. From the command line,

C:\user_authentication_demo>ruby script/generate session user_session

This generator will create UserSession model and this model will be just have an empty class. Next we generate controller for the UserSession

C:\user_authentication_demo>ruby script/generate controller UserSessions

And add the following codes within the UserSessions Controller

Ruby on Rails PDF generator : Prawn gem & Prawnto plugin

It has been amazing working for a project using Ruby on rails framework. And with the awesome support from its community, the experience has been always smooth. In this post I will be introducing you with a wonderful gem/plugin for Rails to generate PDF's. Generating PDF's has never been this easy. When I was asked to generate PF reports in my current project, the hunt for the best plugin began and after testing a few plugins I came across a gem called 'prawn'.

"Prawn takes the pain out of generating beautiful printable documents, while still remaining fast, tiny and nimble."

And Prawnto is a rails plugin which leverages the new prawn library to produce compiled pdf views.

In this post , I will provide simple step by step instruction to install and configure prawn/prawnto and hence will be walking through a simple PDF generating demo application.

Installing Prawn and Prawnto:

To begin with, we have to install prawn gem. From your command prompt(windows OS)

gem install prawn

Once we have successfully installed prawn gem, we need to install Prawnto plugin. Before installing the plugin, lets create the demo application which will be using MySQL database..

From the command prompt

C:\>rails pdf_demo -d mysql

After the project folder structure is created, move into the project folder:

C:\>cd pdf_demo

And now we will be installing the Prawnto plugin

C:\pdf_demo>ruby script/plugin install http://github.com/thorny-sun/prawnto.git/

After we have succesfully installed this plugin, we need to add the following line inside the environment.rb file of our project.

config.gem 'prawn'

within "Rails::Initializer.run do |config|"

Next, lets go ahead and create the Controller named Book

Our project contains one database table(books) with two columns namely name and author.So add the following code inside your migration file (20091211170948_create_books.rb)

Before we go further with any more code, if you open up your database.yml file, it says

So we need to create "pdf_demo_development" named database. We can do that from the command prompt itself as shown below

C:\>mysql -u root

Here I have assumed that the username is "root" and password is nil.
If you have got password then use the following command

C:\>mysql -u root -p (password)

Once you get inside the mysql, we can go ahead and create the required database using following command

mysql> CREATE DATABASE pdf_demo_development;

Once this is successfull, we move ahead and migrate the database for our project.

C:\pdf_demo>rake db:migrate
(in C:/pdf_demo)

Next we will be adding some dummy data's into our newly created database table namely 'books'

Use the following command to add data to the table. First select the database from mysql using

mysql> use pdf_demo_development;

Next lets add the dummy data

mysql> INSERT INTO books (name,author) VALUES ("The Rails Way", "Obie Fernandez");
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.06 sec)

mysql> INSERT INTO books (name,author) VALUES ("Agile Web Development with Rails", "David");
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.01 sec)

So finally we write the codes for generating the PDF and showing the datas entered into the database.

Add the following codes into your app/controllers/book_controller.rb

Here we have created a method called 'show' and created a variable called '@book' which contains all the record from the 'books' table.

Next lets create a view(.rhtml file) for the index method within the books folder and add the following line of code inside this file, which is just a link to generate the PDF file.

And one final step before we run our server to view the result is to create a file with extension .pdf.prawn
This is the file where we write the code to display the contents in the PDF file. So create a 'show.pdf.prawn' file and add the following code

You can visit prawn and prawnto websites to view their documentations and generate PDF's with various effects.

BrowserCMS - RoR Content management System

These days I am busy learning new technical stuffs from Rails framework to wordpress developments. Recently I am engaged with a project which is related to Rails Content Management System. And among the various content management systems available for Rails framework, I am doing this project in BrowserCMS.

Quoting the description about BrowserCMS's from their WiKi,

BrowserCMS is a general purpose, open source Web Content Management System (CMS), written in Ruby on Rails. It is designed to support three distinct groups of people:

Non-technical web editors who want a humane system to manage their site, without needing to understand what HTML or even Rails is.
Designers who want to create large and elegantly designed websites with no artificial constraints by the CMS.
Developers who want create CMS driven websites for their clients, or add a CMS to their Rails applications.

The very first thing every developer would do is install the BrowserCMS system in their local server and once learn how to go about using it, then move on to installing the system over the server and deploy the application.

The funny part is , In my case it all began in a reverse order.

We have got hosting account from HostingRails, where as our client has got hosting account from WebbyNode.

Initially we configured the BrowserCMS on HostingRails which worked fine as we were successfull in deploying the BrowserCMS demo site. Later on we did the same over WebbyNode and were successfull there too.

As I wanted to work on this project on my local machine and later on deploy it over the server, I went ahead and tried installing it on my local server which was also a successful attempt.

In upcoming days I will be posting step by step instructions, how I was able to install BrowserCMS over localhost in my computer and also various technical aspects on BrowserCMS.

It's a real shame on me to tell you that I am a Rails developer and I haven't mentioned about this in my blog yet. I have been working on this amazing web application framework from June 2009. And its almost 5 months along with this framework and I am really enjoying it. Infact this is my first exposure towards a Web application framework and I am really happy to begin it with Rails. With rails you feel comfortable. It gives you the freedom to think out of the box. Being a newbie to this language and framework, there a lot of stuffs to learn and practice. Presently I am using Netbeans IDE for developing my project and Netbeans has never given any problems to me. It infact seems to be the best IDE for Rails with so much of support and help for Rails framework.
I will be keeping you guys updated about Rails with this blog. So do check back regularly.

It was Sunday and I had nothing much to do. After spending whole week with Ruby on Rails and Word-press theme design at office, Sunday has to be something innovative. I have been thinking to redesign my blog template for quite a few time. And finally it was today. Woke up bit too late and after the daily basic routine of breakfasts and other stuffs, I was in a complete good mood to give a new look to my blog.

My friends always used to make fun of my blog as it had hell a lot of colors and it was all shabby. But I loved my blog all the time. Why wouldn't I. It has won the best personal blog title twice from one of the blog contests and it earned me few dollars. Anyways it was today that I decided to give my blog a new look after one and half year long time. yes that does explain how busy I have been ;)

Looking for some good and attractive free blog templates online, I finally found this particular template from BloggerTricks.Com Template was cool, after checking it's demo, I decided this will be my new template at-least for some period of time.

In my previous blog template, I had installed Intense Debate commenting widget, and going ahead with this new template had the risk of getting rid of all my previous comments which was stored in IntenseDebate's server. But I had to take this risk to give a new look and feel for my blog. After the final installation, I had to make a lot of changes through this template. It had few problems which I had to fix manually. It did not have "Read More" option in the front page posts, so I had to write manual codes to get it fixed. Also top navigation bar was very dull, so worked on it to give some hover effects as well.

Well as of now everything seems to be fine with the template. I would be sticking with this template now. But I noticed one problem here, and that's whenever someone visits the blog for the first time in any browser, the browser asks them their twitter user-name and password. I think this has to be with the twitter updates widget installed in the template. I will be fixing this issue very soon.

Okay, what do you think about this new template of Aslam's BlogBuzz(Now Aslam'sBuzz)?
Do you find any issue with this particular look, if so please let me know your views so that I can work on it to make it more and more better.

Dear friends,
How many of you have heard about Taliban flogging a teenage girl at Swat? I hope many of you must have heard about this news. It was a sensational news in all forms of International media. If you have not heard about it, you just need to search it over the internet and you will find 1000's of news,discussions,videos about this incident. Click HERE to see the video in youtube.

All over the world , politicians came infront and started condemning this incident, Pakistan government decided to start investigation on this issue. Lots of people came infront saying that, this video was a fake video and done by enemies of Taliban. All over the media worldwide, it was a headline questioning the Islamic Laws(Sharia), how barbarian a religion can go in the name of justice, what kind of cruel religion it is. Indeed you and me, who watch this video and the news in various international channel are forced to think how cruel the religion Islam is?

Well I have some comments to make on media. Here is one more news which I happen to see today in NDTV and Headline's Today news channels. Its about an Andhra women being beaten up in public and later on she dies in the hospital. Click HERE to see the video and click HERE to read the NDTV news on it.Similar kind of incident as of Taliban flogging a girl.Both the incident saying that these girls had affairs and their characters not being good.This incident occurred last month, and if I ask you or any other person about this incident , i dont think many would be knowing about this, Infact the Indian political leaders may not be knowing of this Andhra incident, leave apart International politicians. I tried searching for this news over the internet and to my surprise very less information about this incident which is far more barbarious than Taliban issue. Well i just went into some of the well known news websites of India, but other than one or two news media, other famous media's never covered this issue, or this issue just went unnoticed as a daily local news.

Now here is the question. Why was this serious incident which happens in India,the country which is having strong presence worldwide went unnoticed by indian politicians and Indian media, leave apart International media. Anyways few of the media which did show up this news, why was it headlined as "A Mother's Cry" or "A Mobs Punishment". Why the religion of the attackers were not put under question here? Why?

Here is my view on this, Just because a powerful nation and its government along with its allies is against Islam and its rules, the whole of media turns against Islam and presents Islam as a religion of Terror(Though the fact is that Islam is a religion of Peace, Humanity and Mankind.). Ask any US or Europe citizen who is aware of international news, about the Taliban flogging issue, he will be able to explain how cruel the Taliban is and the Islamic law is. But if you ask him about the similar more barbarious incident that happens in India(Just like the one here about Andhra woman's death), he for most sure will not be aware of this. We cant blame him for that, as International media did not cover this issue as it has nothing to do with Islam or Islamic laws.

Why is this happening, why Islam and its followers are being on target every now and then by the government of many nations and hence of the International media. Don't you think if this Andhra incident had happened in Pakistan or Afghanistan or say Iraq, then I say with full guarantee that it would have been the BREAKING NEWS in almost all International news channels and all around the world people condemning the attack and questioning Islam and its laws.

Crime is crime, no matter which part of the world it occurs. People behind these crimes must be punished be brought behind the judiciary, rather than pointing your fingers against a specific religion, for you have got no right to say a religion preaches terror as all religions stands for Peace, humanity, mankind , love etc.

My request to all of you is, please wake up, understand how serious the situations are around you, how things are being put in-front of you and how you are made to hate a specific religion or a specific group. my request to all forms of media is go back to the basics of these religions and understand what they stand for, rather than just showing it down as terror group. Remember, by this you are hurting the faith of many out there. Stand for justice and not for those who are in powers. Remember, those who are in powers will never be in power forever, they will comedown as it is said in religious scriptures that, truth will prevail and falsehood is born to perish.

ATM Transaction... How Strange !

Here is the deal.
I have two savings bank account from banks namely Sity Bank and Exis Bank. I had 10,000 bucks in my Exis Bank account and just Rs.4 in my Sity Bank account. Near my locality I did not have any ATM, either of these banks, but I found out an ATM of yet another bank named Onion Bank. Well, I wanted to withdraw the entire 10,000 bucks from my Exis bank account for some need. So I decided to walk into Onion bank ATM. I took out my ATM card from my purse, swiped it through the ATM of Onion bank and when it prompted me to enter the password, I entered the password. Password got accepted and then I enter the amout for withdrawal and then after sometime, i get a message of failed transaction. I tried it for 3 to 4 times, still the same error, TRANSACTION FAILED !. I thought that Onion bank ATM does not accept my card for some reason and I walked out of the ATM.

On the way back to my home, I just had a strange feeling for what might be the reason for transaction failure for no specific reason. Later I realized. Did I tell you, which ATM card I used to swipe through the Onion Bank ATM? I guess no. Well to my stuppidness I used the Sity bank ATM card which just had Rs.4 in it. How dumb I am. You must be agreeing to the fact that, yea I how dumb I am for I tried to withdraw 10,000 from an account which just had Rs.4.

That did not stop me from thinking deeply into that on the way back home. I cant be that dumb, I might have accidentally picked up Sity bank ATM card from my purse. Accidentally picked up my Sity bank card thinking it is Exis bank ATM card...hey hey..that means to withdraw money I must have used the Exis bank password right. Yes, I remember , I used Exis bank password on a wrong ATM card. But then how the hell did the password work out on Sity bank ATM card and provided me with my bank details. This question is still killing me. Is something wrong with the Sity bank ATM system that on its card any random password just worked out. Oh crap this is very bad indeed, or is it something else, if it is what is it??

iPod Technical Support is my yet another blog where I write about iPod troubleshooting steps. Mostly i write to the questions posted by my visitors. I started this blog at around mid of April. After starting this blog I never wrote any article. Actually I was thinking whats the use of this particular blog. later in the month of June I saw a comment in that blog from an iPod user and she was requesting a help. I was very much surprised thinking, how come a person comment on a blog which had any article or posts about iPod. I replied to that comment by writing a neat article on how that particular issue can be fixed. I think it was around July end that I must have written that post and one of my friend suggested to make use of Google Analytic to get the accurate stats of the blog. So on July 29th I decided to install Google analytic and from then on there was no looking back. I am very proud to say that 80% of my visitors come from various search engines. and I get many requests through comments and through personal emails to help on various iPod issues. Though I give help for FREE, i decided why not I include a PAYPAL DONATE button so that in-case any visitor is really happy about my help, he can donate me and I did not have to wait too long that one of my visitor was so happy with my help that he donated me some dollars and I was really happy for this achievement.

Working as an internet engineer for a design company, I see talented designers around me design some wonderful designs for our clients. The logos, websites designed by our designers are always eye catchy and to the mark. As a programmer I just appreciate the way they design stuff's and have a strong desire to learn Photoshop and design something of my own. I know, you cannot learn something overnight, but I thought I will give it a shot and I came up with a website layout. I designed this layout keeping in mind my one other blog named iPod-Genius. Adobe Auto Updates.... I Hate Them :x

Hi Friends.

You must be thinking, why should I hate automatic updates from Adobe. Infact I would hate all kind of automatics updates which happen over the internet. The only reason behind this is my bandwidth limit provided to me by my ISP. It is just 1.5GB per month. That means per day 50MB.

Now most of the applications does allow us to prevent the automatic updates by changing it in their settings. But I never found any settings to stop Adobe automatic updates for all adobe applications. Finally I found the hidden trick to kill Adobe automatic updates.

Follow the step by step instructions below and you too can get rid of adobe auto updates.(Only for Windows OS)

1. Open the C drive, Go to Program files, Open Common Files folder,

2.There you find Adobe folder, open it.

3.There you find Updater5 folder, open that.

4.Double click on AdobeUpdater.exe, it will check for available updates, then after that you will find preferences option, There you find a check box to cancel auto updates. Just cancel it and click OK. You are done.

So now I can save some of my bandwidths. Yeahooooo :)

The Three Months With A New Team

Departed from the training team with whome i was living wonderful days of my life, it was pretty tough for me to accept that I have to be in a new team of nearly 15 members. All the faces were new. Few faces were the one which I used to watch during the traing days :P, so they did not seems to be that new though they seemed to be strangers in all aspects.

Team Leader Nancy.. A young lady in her mid twenties. With huge smile on her face all the time. Thus there begun new chapter of introductions all over again. I just hated this part, where we have to ask names,natives. Huh....But I loved when others asked me all these.. .My team had one of the cutest girl, her name was Monica, Everyone in the office had an eye on her.Did I mention earlier that, there were few faces which I used to watch during training days, well this face mite be the one.lol

Alrite, so days with new team were just going on. Initially we were not allowed to take any calls. Floor supervisors were giving us training on how to be professionals on the call, how to handle customers, how to solve certain issue. Well all these were pretty much useful to us as the trainer really sucked during training days. They never gave us proper training. Who the hell made them as Trainers, must be some part of politics within the company responsible for these useless people to get into these posts. No wonder why they played politics in final evaluations, Politics was running in their blood.

Well, Few of the Floor supervisor were really good at training us with basic necessity of call handling procedures and few just tried to flirt around with the young ladies in the team.As the days passed by, I started getting friendly with most of the team members and the Team leader Nancy...She was the best. We all liked her very much in a short period of time. Her character and the way she interacted with evryone, no wonder why most of them liked her.

Based on the good show in the training provided by floor supervisors and the team leader, few from my team including me was chosen to start taking calls. I was really nervous when I first took the call. I am not used to these American Accent. How am I gonna understand what they are saying and what will happen if i am not able to handle the customer well. All these thoughts was making me feel dizzy. But there was no looking back. I had the confidence that, if i collect some courage and handle few calls, i can then manage well. In my first few calls, some experienced representatives sat beside me to walk me through certain call handling procedures and that really helped to gain the confidence.

After few days call handling, i was being somewhat comfortable and I was having a good impression within my team. I loved it. My happiness did not stay longer, when one night, my team leader approached me and said that, One of the customer had sent a survey on my name and her remark was that, She was not happy with me and I did not resolve her Issue. I was getting depressed. Tension could be seen through me. But Nancy patted me on my back and told that, that paricular call was handled well by me(she had recorderd the call and listened to it), Customer was not satisfied due to some other reason. Nancy talked to me for nearly half hour consoling me and telling me that I was the best and I could do well in coming days. Her words were so encouraging and I promised her that I will gfive my best shot in each and every call and would not let her and the team down.

Very soon all of my team members began taking calls and sitting in a bay we all enjoyed a lot along with Nancy. We would play pranks with each other, Go for short breaks all together. It was really fun all throughout. The entire 15 members of the team were like a single gang out there and there were other teams too in the floor and there used to be cat-dog race between different teams taking team performance on account.

There was a team Leader named Nathan and his team was equally good like us. Our team and his team used to sit next to each other and used to have a cold war all the time based on the performance.We had to agree to the fact that Nathan's team had some good performers because of which some weeks they topped the Team stats and some weeks we managed to get above them. All in all there were many teams competing with each other, but beating Nathan's Team gave us more satisfaction.
On the other hand, The guys who were moved to the premanent posts were having tough time out there as their team Leader screwed them all the time(As told by some of my old training friends). That was really pleasing to hear after what has happened at the end of the training.

After a month we came to know that, most of the guys from temporary posts will be kicked out based on the performance and only few will be made permanent. And till date what we have seen over here. We were pretty much sure that, no performance will be the factor. Just wish you were a girl, you would make it in there.Lolzz..After this news , everyone felt the heat and tension could be seen on every faces. I was also nervous though my performance never went down. But here anything can happen. I could also feel that My team was getting the heat in a pretty different way. I could see a line being drawn in between the team. Untill now, there was no groupism within our Team which we were very proud of, but after this news everything changed. There was no team spirit. Everyone just had only one thought. Just make it to the top so that Managers can never ignore you while preparing the final list.

All enjoyment was dried out. But the group in which I was a part, we still had a great time with each other.We wanted to live every moment of our days in the company. We had a slogan within us and that was "BUSINESS ROCKS". This slogan just added flavour to our bondings. Well if you ask what does that slogan Mean.. Well Just forget It.. :P

We could see that, other part of my team were trying to impress Team Leaders and other Supervisors to the max so that they be considered during final listing. Well not to blame them, They have seen the politics happen at the end of the training days and they are just trying to survive here. But we did not try anything. We just performed to our level and waited things to happen in its own way. During those days Our team also planned a one night trip to some tourist place. Had a great time. There were very emotional moments during this trip. We had to talk on each others character. All in all it was a hell of a trip and it would be remebered by each and everyone of us forver, though there was indifferences between each other during these days.

After the trip, within few days, shorlisting of candidates begun and few of the team mates were kicked out in no time. Actually this was not only with my team..every team was going through this phase. Few days later I was called into a meeting. When I moved into the meeting room, I could see some of the process managers and many other like me in the room. Once everyone who were asked to come for meeting had arrived, the meeting begun.It was said in the meeting that those who are present in the meeting will be made permanent from next month. I was surprised. A bit happy for my own selection, but sad a lot because this selection means, the rest of my best buddies will be kicked out.

Very soon the news was out. It was also said that one more shortlisting will be done to move some more into the permanent position. Most of my best buddies had to meet the HR's on the same day and they were told to submit their ID cards. That day was supposed to be the last day with my team as from the next day, new team will be made for those who were made permanent. We could see the sadness in the face of most of the guys. My team had some of the best technical representatives. My stats were good. So my chances were high to move into permanent position. But apart from me there was a girl from my team who too was moved into permanent position. That even shocked my team leader.

She was no were near to the level of professionalism and performance showed by some of the other representatives.No questions were asked. We knew some bad politics went unnoticed behind the scene. Nothing could be done. Had to accept it and move on. When the next shortlisting was done, my other best buddy named Abhay got through it. I was really happy knowing this. I have someone with me from the old buddy list. The thrill to work was gone after the resignation of all other best buddies of mine.
But somewere I expected that much more BPO sutras are still left to be explored, and I did explore it in the rest of my journey in this field.

Well actually i was planning to write down something here since a long time. But the life after graduation. OMG.. Its driving me nuts.

Anyways am here back with something to share with you all.
Okay. You must be thinking What the "F" is the title of this post all about. Well, those who knows me well must have guessed it right what am I gonna share with you all.

Infact most of you might have read the novel from Chetan Bhagat titled "One night @ the Call Center". Well I am not gonna bore you with any of my stories here.Lol
Here I want to share with you all some precious moments of my life, actually 230 days of my life at the city of garden, Bangalore.

I was here in search of a job. Well when I say about the job, I remember about the three Job offers which I had received when I was doing my graduations, but none of the three MNC dared to take a peek into the lifes of these graduated freshers.

Anyways, let me not divert from the fact that I am here to share something about those 230 nights. Okay, Now that you have read so far, and had a good look into the title of this post, I needn't mention what was the job I finally landed into.

Those who are getting bored by the stuff over here, Please just get the hell out of here.Just Kidding. Its your time.Why should I be bothered of your time.Wohaaaah... Okay back to track.

One Month Of Training:

I was really exited about this job, Though this was not the right kind of job I must be doing.Anyways job is a job untill they pay me for what I am doing. Well, The first day was pretty cool. My training team was great. trainer too was great. I was loving this place.Did I mention that i was a graduate fresher.Well okay, I am a graduate fresher and this was my first professional exposure. So I was just enjoying pretty much in all ways.
Days of training were going incredibly great,Why shouldnt it be. The Client to which we are supposed to work after the one month of training was a huge name in the market.

We had few tests based on the training. Some were exceptionally good that they topped the tests in all means.
Did I mention that this company is a call center. yea.. the final test which we trainees had to undergo was MOCK CALLs, where we trainees had to attend the calls of some other trainers and the calls would be monitered by some other trainers and finally all these trainers would evaluate each trainee based on his performance.. few of my team members were having a charming faces as they had done exceptionally well..and few had dull faces, for the reason that you must have guessed it right.My face expressions were pretty much fifty fifty kind of.Lol. And these dull faces were of those charming girls who were supposed to be always charming being the fact that they are always charming. Hahaha..

But surprise surprise.... The Dull faces turns out to be charming and few charming faces turns out to be dull. You know why.. haha...the results are out and it seems like the great trainers liked the charming faces of girls so much that performances were not looked into but the charmness and the butteryness of few others were the basis of test evaluations.

This was the begining of so called politics in a professional world. We had to accept it. We have to move on. Well the one with the charming faces and buttery character were straightly moved into the respective positions and made permanent employees. And the rest of them were put into a temporary positions for three months.What about me? I am not a girl with the charm and ya...i dont have buttery soapy words flowing out of me for my trainers, so I am in the Temporary post.

As promised am here, back to the world of blogging.I know most of you might have had a thought in their minds that I might not return.But I had to.Its been eight plus months I have been away from the Blogging.I had given the reason for the same in my previous posts.

Working as Technical support representative for US Process, I was so busy with the Bangalore night life that I never got time to turn around to se whats happening arond.Yea, A lot of things has happened.Satyam Computer, the firm in which I was placed is no more.Unfortunates happened with this company and thus unfortunates happened with most of the Satyam freshers of 2008.Am one among them.Hopes are high for the bright future.Never get dejected.Be calm and composed on every aspects of life.If you are destined for success, then no one can stop you from acheiving it.

I wish all the 2008 freshers who are hit by the current recession, GOOD LUCK.

A Step Towards My Career

Dear friends,
Before I pen down something which surely gonna bore you like hell,I would like to quote two famous inspirational ones:

The turning point, I think, was when I really realized that you can do it yourself. That you have to believe in you because sometimes that's the only person that does believe in your success but you.

If we agree that the bottom line of life is happiness, not success, then it makes perfect sense to say that it is the journey that counts, not reaching the destination.

Well good one's right.Anyways I feel it so.
You might be wondered what is the step which am gonna take towards my career.Its nothing that great.Though into one or two IT firms,but the current IT slowdown has affected the companies so much that, we, the freshers are suffering with the delayed date of joining.Been waiting to get a call from the company from past 3 months.Yet no sign,But hopes are always high.And with the wishes of my beloved and loyal readers am surely gonna have a mark into one.
Oh sorry friends still I have not mentioned what is the step which am gonna take now though I haven't got any call letter from the companies who recruited me an year back.After so much of wait and frustrations, now I have decided to move on.I have decided to land my foot into the IT City,Bangalore.As am electronics graduate my plans are to drop my resumes over some of the electronics and communication based firms.Who knows, If am that lucky enough to be shortlisted to appear for an interview.Then wonders can happen to my career.lols.
Ok Ok Ok am not going any more deep into my career plans.I will be surely updating the happening around whenever I get time.

Think Twice If You Are Planning To Torture Someone With Your Free SMS

Hi friends,
In every part of the society you can find annoying creatures in the form of human beings.Please do note the stress which I give on the word 'annoying'.You can find it in your neighborhood too.They can be anyone.Your friends or neighbors or someone within your family.This person might be the one you hate the most in your life.Hate in the sense just a personal hatred.Nothing like enemity and all.Its just that the particular person is cursed by the god with such annoying character and the result is the person ending up to be your friend or someone you know well and you are here the ultimate sufferer.
Well no point in raising fingers at them or shouting or trying to avoid them.They are cursed by god with such annoying character and you with his company.Lolzzz.

Here I would like to narrate an incident of such a kind of person.
He was my classmate in college days.He is someone whom everyone would try to avoid.A guy with extra ordinary looks.Smile always the one which can irritate you like anything.When something unusual happens in the class or if some one is made bully of,then he would be leading to make the situation worst and pull the victims leg.

This is the era of mobile freedom.Everyone posses a handset with them.So do our Mr.X.
He is the one who would never spend money without any specific purpose of him.So it can be expected that our Mr.X is never going to send any SMS without any purpose.But unfortunately due to the ever increasing competition between the mobile network service providers,these service provider came up with many attractive offers to its customers.One such offer was FREE LOCAL SMS for one month.
What next,Mr.X activated the offer and rest you can just assume.Every morning when I wake up,my Inbox will be filled with his good morning messages.First few days it was fine with me.But daily......
He didn't restrict himself to his daily morning wishes.There is no reason for him to send an sms.Whatever it is,he will just forward it to everyone.It was being difficult for me to sort out other important messages in my Inbox.Days passed away.His sms irritation continued.Requested to him many times.But he would just never care to listen.So something had to be done to teach him a lesson.
So me along with one of my friend once decided to plan something such that it must have serious effect on our Mr.X and his irritating behaviour.
And finally we both ended up with an experimental plan.And if it worked out it's gonna be just amazing.

It goes as follows-

It was an usual day.When I wake up usually the first thing I do is check my mobile for any message.But after Mr.X's sms torture I never take mobile along with me to the bed(If am not wrong most of you like me love to sleep with mobile right?)..Anyways I had to be positive to implement the plan decided a day before.I have a friend who has got a fancy mobile number of the same mobile service provider as of Mr.X.So what I did was explained my plan to that friend.And to bring a huge and awesome result of the experiment we had to try something extra along with it.I asked my friend with the fancy mobile number to call Mr.X as the customer care executive and tell him about the new offer they are providing and the new offer is like, If the customer recharges for 500 INR,he gets credited with double the talk time value of 500 INR recharge.It was also said to him that extra doubled talktime credits only after 30 days of the recharge.
Being from such a fancy mobile number and pure executive sound of my friend(Yea,he has an amazing talent to fool others with his talking skills),Mr.X is never going to think twice about the call and the offer made.Everything worked as per our plan.Call was made to Mr.X. He fell into the trap. I could see a new message blinking in my mobile display.I was sure it's him.And I was right.It was him describing how lucky he is that he got such an offer from his mobile service provider.Me and my friend just couldn't control our laughter.I informed about the success of our plans first phase to my other friend along with whom the plan was made.
Next phase has to be cautious.Slight foolishness from my side,the plan fails.I was fully determined.It was now or never situation to get rid of his tortures.
After 3 boring lectures it was the time for lunch break.I congratulated my friend for the wonderful recharge offer.He was indeed happy(How fool he is.I was thinking with a smile on my face).My intention was to somehow get his mobile in my hands for few minutes.And in this part of plan I used a girl(my good friend) of my class with whom Mr.X had the crush.He would never say no to her.Before he left to hostel for his lunch,this girl intervened and asked his mobile.She said she is getting bored and needs his mobile to play some game.Guess what,it worked.Once he was away.My role starts.I took the mobile from her and then did something which is going to stop Mr.X from sending such tortured sms's forever.What I did was I edited his contact list.I had a friend at US and in Gulf Countries and had mailed them about the incident and the plans.I changed my number in Mr.X's contact to my friend's US international number.Also randomly changed few contacts to whom he regularly sends sms to few of my friends who are at Dubai and Abhudabi.
What next.Everything was just normal.Returning back to home me and my friend were happy that we escaped from his tortures.We knew what the result is going to be.He had 850 INR balance in his mobile and since international sms would cost 5 INR/sms, his balance gonna finish in a day.And guess what,the plan was successful.He never came to know how everything happened.He was there helpless.When he contacted actual customer care executive,they informed him about the international sms.Meanwhile he found out the change in his contacts.But never was able to find who the culprit was.But he must have learned a lesson from this as after this incident none received any torturing sms from Mr.X.

Ramzan as you all must be knowing is considered to be the sacred month for the Islamic community.And yeah it is also considered to be the king of remaining 11 months in Islamic calender.This particular month has got that special status in a Muslim's life.The picture which come to everyone when we talk about Ramzan is Keeping fasts(thats is, wake up early morning[at around 4a.m]-->have break fast-->no food or water until evening-->finally have food[at around 6.30p.m]
Well thats true.But it doesn't mean starve yourself.The whole intention of fasting is to purify the inner soul of an individual.During fasting the individual devotes himself to the god,performs prayers,visits mosque and engage in holy activities.Thus its all meant to control the inner desire of an individual and thereafter have a sacred life, the next 11 months after Ramzan.

Fasting has many benefits for health as well.Many great health scholars too considered fasting as beneficial to health.It keeps you away from many dangerous diseases which are likely to take a chance upon you.Anyways am not here to explain about the medical benefits of Fasting.You can Google search it and have a clear idea about it.

Will Smith is amazing as always.Actually a friend of mine when visited my home had this movie with him.It was long back then.He then advised me to watch the movie the same day.But due to ma sheer laziness I did not turn up that day.And after that I never remembered I had such a movie stored in my hard drive.But recently when I was just cleaning up ma drives i came across it.And since I had no other work i decided to give it a look.Well friends my friend was right.Its such an awesome movie.Shit...why the hell didn't I watch it long back.Am not here to review the movie,but the script is just awesome.It reveals the struggle of a man( a father and a husband) who lives a middle class life and shows his thrive to achieve success.For those who haven't watched this movie,I just wanna say,do watch it.

"Oh common," Taking a long breath. "Now do tell me what happened to you."
"Well actually my mobile monthly bill and you can guess the rest,"Her voice trembled as she spoke. "Mom came to know about our daily long conversation and she took away my cell phone.Returned just today with a warning."
"Our long conversation....huh...." Rahul murmured.
"Why what happened, You don't believe me?"
"Nothing like that. Can I ask you one thing?"
"Ask me anything sweetheart..I love you and I missed you a loooooooooooot."
"Who is Rihan?"
"Rihan??" Preethi spoke as if she was confused. "He is my friend in orkut.But why are you asking about him to me that too now?"
"Just like that," Rahul continued. "You talk to him through phone regularly?"
"He used to ring me at sometimes.That's it.Anything wrong? You sound as if you are hiding something from me?" Preethi said.
"Do not lie to me for any reason dear.." Rahul sounded as though he was crying. "Please make it clear what's between you and Rihan?"
"Sweetheart. I just love you and Rihan is just my friend through orkut.Nothing else.That's all I can say to you." She firmed her tone.

And as usual Rahul believed whatever Preethi had said to him.The three words always did the magic on him and this time too.Rahul was the happiest in the world today.He got his Preethi back which he thought he had lost forever.

This time they had taken a decision.And that is not to have regular phone calls so that the same problem doesn't arise again.And from then on everything went normal.Rahul and Preethi started living their so called sweetheart relation.

Rahul returned from the college.He took off his jacket and his shoes and loosened his tie.Logged into gmail to check some important mails regarding his placement in some MNC.Unexpectedly at that time he got the call from Preethi.

"Hello my dear." He turned of the computer.
"Hi dear"
"So how was the day,How come at this time you call me?" asked Rahul.
"Days good.I need to talk to you one important mater." said Preethi.
"I know you love me."
"Please be serious" She said "You know Rihan right?"
"Yea your so called orkut friend." Rahul said casually. "What's up with him?"
"He proposed me today.." She said.

"Why poor Rihan?" She asked.
"You must have broke his heart by rejecting his proposal." Rahul continued to giggle.
"I did not reject his proposal,neither did i accept." She said briskly.
"What..what do you mean by that..? The giggle was no more now from him.
"I mean..I said.." Giving a short pause. "I need time to decide."
"What the hell," He shrugged. "What's there to decide in it.You love me,I love you.
You just have to say no to him.So simple."
"It's not that simple for me.I just can't do that to him." She said.
"Why dear.What's wrong with you?" His voice was low now. "What happened to you."
"Rahul I love you very much and I expect you to understand me." She said. "Rihan, he loves me more than anything.I can't break his heart just like that."
"So what's in it..I love you more than my life.Doesn't that matter to you?" His heart pounded like an engine. "You surely gonna say no to him.then why make a delay dear."
"I don't know." She said.
"Do you love him?" Rahul asked.
"No I don't" She said.
"Well dear,that's it," Comforting himself he said. "Just say no to him."
"Sorry.I just can't say no to Rihan.Why don't you understand me. I don't want to hurt the poor guy by rejecting him." She said.
"What do you mean you don't want to hurt Rihan.You sound so different dear." Rahul fell on his knees.Tears rolled down his eyes.Everything went dark for him.He collapsed.
"I will call you back, Bye" Preethi dropped the call.

Rahul was nowhere now.sweat rolled down his forehead,his breath lost the rhythm.He felt so lonely in the dark room.Tears rolled down his cheeks and dropped into the floor.He sat there watching those liquids.
He couldn't wait longer.He rang back.But the call was on call waiting.He tried calling her later.But then the phone was switched off.Loneliness took over him.He didn't feel like having his dinner.He went to bed empty stomach.He couldn't sleep well.He woke up early and before Preethi's school timings he tried calling her.But then again the call was on waiting.
Rahul collapsed.He didn't know what to do.He just sat there on sofa lost in his thoughts,when suddenly his cell phone rang.

"Rahul..."It was Preethi.She was crying.
"Yea.So what's going on.Busy all the time." Rahul said.
"Actually I made the biggest blunder of my life." She said controlling her shaky voice.
"Blunder,What do you mean?" Rahul asked.
"You know na I love you and you too love me..right?" She said.
"Ofcourse I love you" Rahul replied.
"Fine.Then I hope you understand me."
"What's matter.Everything fine with you?" Rahul asked.His sound was sore.
"I accepted Rihan's Proposal.Poor thing was very much down to earth as I didn't give him any positive reply yesterday." She said.
"Please.." Rahul was confused. "Do not joke."
"I am not joking Rahul," She said. "I expect you to understand me and accept whatever it is."
"You mean to say, you love me and still accept his proposal.That bloody doesn't make any sense." Rahul shouted anguishly.
"Whatever you say," Preethi sounded differently. "I don't want to hurt Rihan in this matter.I have accepted his proposal and am bound to be his girlfriend from now on.And you Rahul..Well you have to understand it."
"Yea ...i have to understand it." Rahul murmured.
"You will have to forget me now." She continued.
"Can you forget me ?" Rahul fired the question back.
"That doesn't make any difference now.You have to forget me and move on in your life.forget everything which was between us.And am really sorry for this.i never expected this day to come." She spoke briskly and harshly.
"Will you be able to love Rihan?" Rahul asked.
"I will try..Infact i have to. He loves me so much you know." She replied.
"What about my love for you?" Rahul was full of questions.
"Please Rahul." She said. "No use of talking about that anymore.
"What about the promise which we made to maintain our sweetheart relation forever." Rahul's questions continued.
"No more sweetheart relation.You have to forget it and everything.Bye forever." And she dropped the call.

Rahul was nomore.He was similar to dead.The beautiful dream which he lived was nomore.Everything that made up Rahul disappeared from him.His smartness,his excellence in studies and sports,everything moved away from him.Or in other sense it can also be said that Rahul moved away from all these.

Days passed.Rahul didn't change.Always lost in his thoughts.Karan and Sangeetha tried their maximum to bring back the old happy go lucky Rahul to them.But all efforts in vain...

All these incidents seriously affected Rahul's life very much.he couldn't make a pass in two theory exams he wrote those days.And because of this is appointment in a major MNC was canceled.H is yet to complete his masters degree by clearing those two exams and still living a hopeless life.

For such a response from Preethi, Rahul never had any answer.Thus he too continued their long conversation everyday.This daily conversation turned out to be very special for both of them.They couldn't even imagine a day without talking to each other.It was like a dream for them.They named this special relation as 'sweetheart relation' in which they promised to maintain this relation for ever.

It was not the same always.Some time there used to be problem.Most of the time Rahul tried calling Preethi,her call used to be on call waiting.And this used to continue for a long duration.This made Rahul go mad.He was being more possessive on her.Every time he queried about those long call waiting's,she used say that it was her classmate.
And Rahul believed her every time.Now what's there not to believe in it.Preethi could never lie to him.It was such a special relation after all.Exams were going on for Rahul and he was living his best days of his life.

One fine morning he was there expecting a call from Preethi as usual.But it turned out to be an endless wait for him.He waited till evening and when there was no call still,he thought to ring her back finally.

But alas...her cell was switched off all the time he tried.Rahul got worried about her.He even didn't have internet connection so that he could expect some scraps from her.Meanwhile he tried Karan.

"Yupp...How's studies bro?"
"Well..Leave studies apart," Rahul said in a hurry. "You must help me out"
"What's the matter.Everything fine?"
"You know Preethi...?" Rahul's tone was low.
"Yea...Your hunny bunny booo" Karan made it sound funny.
"Please dude," relaxing in the armchair. "Listen to me."
"yea.."
"Her cell is switched of all the time." He raised from the chair and walked towards his dad's room. "Can you do me a favour?"
"Anything for you my friend." Karan tried to calm down Rahul.
"Well here's my Orkut username and password.You have to check if Preethi has left any message for me.Please make it fast." He popped a cigarette which was lying on his dad's table.Tension showed in his face.he never smoked before.
"You don' worry," Karan said. "I will check out and ring you back..You please calm yourself." He sounded more caring this time.

After checking through orkut,Karan called Rahul back.
"Rahul..a bad news for you." His sound was low.
"Wassup man..make it clear." Rahul trembled.
"No scraps for you from her side"
"Damn..How the hell am I gonna know what's going on." Inexperience in smoking made him choke.
"Dude relax..There is lot more you must know." Karan quickened through his dialogue.
"Lot more?, What exactly do you mean." Crushing the cigarette under his shoes.
"I mean, she was online few hours back." Karan said.
"How can you tell that for sure," his voice was shivering. "If she was online,she would have surely left me a message."
"I don't know all those things,but she was online few hours back and that is for sure," Karan sounded a bit harsh. "tell me who is this Rihan?"
"Rihan???" Throwing himself to the corner of the room. "I don't know."
"Then listen..there was a scrap in Preethi's page from the guy named Rihan and it said 'Hey sweet heart,Please take care of yourself' "Karan said. "And when I checked Rihan's scrapbook,there i saw Preethi's scrap and it read, 'hey Rihan,Am in little trouble.Mom came to know about our daily long conversation through the mobile bill.Will tell you everything in detail once everything is sorted out.' "
"Rihan...Long conversation...I don't understand." Rahul almost lost in his thoughts.
Moments of Preethi's call waiting's flashed backed through his tired braincells.
"Even I don't understand too.I have always warned you not to commit yourself into any sort of online relations.Now you get to see.Now forget it and study for your exams." Karan said.
"See you tomorrow for exam.Bye" Rahul disconnected the call.

'If she can scrap a guy called Rihan about her current damn situation,then why the hell she didn't bother to inform me.' The very thought made him go mad.He lit another cigarette.tears rolled down his eyes.His head was heavy.He sat there for next three hours lost in thoughts.

It was his last exam.He couldn't do well.Infact he didn't have any hopes to clear it.Lying on the bed that evening,he was giving flashbacks to his thoughts when suddenly his cell phone rang.It was she,Preethi.

It was during his school days.He was in 11th grade.Though he was new to school,with his cricketing talent he managed to get a place in school cricket team and in no time he was selected as the vise-captain.Rahul's school team appeared to be the state champions and hence qualified for the regional level inter school cricket tournament which was to be held at Modern High School,Bangalore.Almost all the school team which participated in this tournament were best amongst their state and also were given immense coaching.But Rahul's school team lacked any coaching and also the team was bit inexperienced while compared to other teams.So hopes were less from this team.Almost every other match they played,faced defeat with a huge margin.But Rahul's individual performance showed a lot improvement.With his brilliant bating performance he won the hearts of many spectators.And among these spectators was a group of girls from the hosting school.Almost all the girls in the group were charming and good looking.Their looks can catch the eyes of any player out there.And amongst that group there was a girl with cute smile and the most good looking amongst the group.She was present for every match Rahul's team played.She passed smiles to Rahul and he would just wonder if it's reality.But he could never gather courage to speak to her.He always suffered from the so called starting problem.Matches by matches,Rahul's team just faced defeat from the opposition and finally they couldn't qualify for the quarter finals.So they had to pack their bags.It was the last day of the tour.Rahul's eye was searching for that angel but she was no where.Then Rahul realized how much he liked her and was dumb enough not to make the first move.There he was in the bus way back to home.

So that was Rahul's first crush of life.And lying on the bed thinking about the beautiful girl about whom he knew nothing brought a kind of smile over his face.

'Why don't I search for that girl in Orkut' Rahul thought for a moment and there he was infront of his lap-top connected to orkut busy searching for Modern High School Bangalore community.There it is with 1000 plus members.But how to search for the girl about whom he knew nothing.Still Rahul thought to give it a try.He created a new thread in the forum in which he wrote about himself and the regional cricket match held in that school in 2003.

Few days passed.But Rahul did not find even a single response to his thread.He felt helpless.His try didn't yield him any result.So he killed all his hopes of getting in touch with his first crush.

One Sunday morning when he logged into his orkut account he was surprised to see reply to his thread in that school's community.Hopes started building within himself because the reply was from a girl with name Preethi.He slowly read the reply.

'Hi Rahul...So in search of your dream girl.Well all the best'

Rahul checked out her profile.She was at present in her 12th grade in that school.And this meant that it wasn't the same girl he was searching for.But still Rahul felt like sending a friend request to her and knowing her.Somewhere in him,there was a hope that through this girl he could find his destination.And he then sent a scrap to her. 'Hi Preethi...Thanks for the wish'
For his surprise she was online the same time and she replied him back.Thus with few scrap exchanges they came to know about a lot to each other.
Everyday evening they used be online the same time and used to chat for long.Thus they felt a strong friendship building in between them.Their this online chatting through scraps continued for a month and one evening they were chatting as usual.But this day there was something different.

Rahul: Hi dear.how you?
Preethi: Am fine my dear.So how was the day?
Rahul: Day was as usual.Fed up with studies actually!!!
Preethi: Well studies are always boring na....
Rahul: Dear, I wanna tell you something
Preethi: Ya tell me
Rahul: My exams gonna kick start in a week and my internet connection gonna expire today.So next i can be online is after my exams.Most probably after a month or so.
Preethi: Oh no...I gonna miss you a lot
Rahul: I will miss you too a lot dear.But ya,Though we won't be in touch for a month or so,never ever forget this orkut friend of yours.
Preethi: Well..I can't say that for sure.If we are not in touch then I may forget you..sorry I can't help it
Rahul: Oh common dear.Please understand baby.You know my problem.Please don't do it.
Preethi: Then there must be some way we can be in touch.Can't you think of any... you dumbo.
Rahul: You mean to say...I mean do you expect me to ask you for your contact number ?
Preethi: What else can be other alternative my stupid idiotic friend.Scrap down your contact number.I will ring you tonight.

Rahul: Thanks dear...Gotta go..Has to study a lot...Bye take care

That night as promised Preethi called him.Thus for the first time they heard each others voice.Indeed it was special for both of them.And thus there began a new episode in their life.
Preethi rang Rahul everyday morning,evening infact whenever she managed to get time.She liked speaking to Rahul all the time.Rahul too did.But he was little worried about this daily long conversation.After all it was an s.t.d call.Rahul tried explaining her the matter.But she never cared for any consequences.She just knew that she liked talking to Rahul and bothered nothing else.

Once when Rahul tried explaining her about the real consequence she just shouted at him saying,

'It's my cell phone,Am calling you,Am gonna pay the bill and face all the consequence,so you need not worry about anything..Or Is it you don't like speaking to me? '

Rahul couldn't sleep well last night.He was in a daze of what's going to happen the next day.It was a much awaiting day for him.
Rahul,a final year MBA student always desired to own a personal computer and after his brilliant performance in BBM Degree examination, his dad had promised to buy him a lap-top.And tomorrow is the day.The mere thought of having a personal lap-top made his night the longest.Thinking of his new lap-top he never realized when actually sleep overtook him.

It was a warm day.Rahul and his dad just had no idea which computer dealer to approach.they were new to the town.
'hey dude, Do you know any good computer shop here at Ramoji bazaar.I am not able to figure out any' Rahul inquired with Karan over his cellphone.

Karan is Rahul's best friend as well as his project partner.It was Karan who all the way took risk of intervening with college seniors when Rahul was being ragged.From then on,they both are real best friends.

'Electronix Mart, near to central Post Office.Check out.They deal with best systems and ya, forget not a big treat for the new lappy..hahaha'

Finally after a lot of search and analysis,Rahul selected a lap-top with best configuration which didn't trouble his dad's budget too much.

'Wazzup Rahul, Up with an brand new Lappy...congrats dear' It was Sangeetha.Rahul's classmate and a good friend.Infact Rahul had good company only with Karan and Sangeetha in the college.

'So any plans to have internet connection dude'
'Oh yea Karan,dad has already applied for Wireless Land Line(WLL) connection and expects to get the connection in a day or two'
'That's pretty cool.WLL will offer you a pretty good upload and download speed.I used it few months back before I switched over to BSNL broadband' Said Sangeetha.
'And ya do remember to sign up with ORKUT,India's fastest growing social network.Its awesome man.You would love it for sure' added Sangeetha.

It was a Tuesday morning and college was off due to some accreditation works.

'Rahul, Am leaving for my office.Be at home all the day.BSNL officials may come up any time to provide the internet connection' Shouted Rahul's dad from the downstairs.

That night Rahul was really exited. Sangeetha had told him about orkut.He had also heard about this site from many of his other friends too.So the very first URL which Rahul entered in the address bar of Mozilla Firefox was www.orkut.com
He soon created a gmail account and registered for the orkut account.There he was with his orkut profile. 0 friends, 0 scraps, 0 communities.He browsed through a lot of categories and since he was a quick learner he pretty well understood what the site is all about.He searched for his old school friends.And was surprised to find the profiles of almost everyone in this vast network.Also he joined some of the communities like Indian Cricket, friends, Ramoji bazaar etc.That night he slept late.He had a wonderful experience of being online for more than 6 hours continuously and chatting with few of his old friends.He woke up late the following day.Dad had already left to his office.He was not in a hurry to reach the college in the morning session as the session was meant for seminar research works.So he thought of having small nap for little more time.

Almost each and every individual must have had their first crush in their life.

This is tiring,This is taunting.....What is this "This"....?
This is the so called WAIT.Wait in any sense can be tiring and taunting.
For example,You are in a rush to reach somewhere along with your friend and you are waiting for your friend at some place.And then what,he is not in time..Its 10 minute past the decided time..You still wait....its 20 minutes past...This is too much now.You ring him..He says he is on the way.....How would you feel..frustrating right?
Indeed it is.I personally have faced this situation with one of my best friend.He is a perfect late comer.Disgusting....

But today what made me write about this "WAIT"..what am i waiting for now.Well I have completed my graduation and now am supposed to be in some software or hardware firm.I was selected to three software firm last year.And I expected a joining once i completed my graduation.But nay...They say they will call.But when the hell are they going to call.Some say software market is down currently.But how long are they going to keep us waiting.Now this is again tiring, and taunting too.
The only one thing which I possess now is a big hope :) what else ...
And there is another hope too.And that is hope of many graduates still awaiting like me.And that gives some satisfaction to me as am not only the one in this long list of waiting.

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down,when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jaguar's side door!
He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jaguar back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry executive then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, 'What was that all about and who are you? Just what the hell are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?'
The young boy was apologetic. 'Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do,' He pleaded.
'I threw the brick because no one else would stop...'
With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car.
'It's my brother' he said
'He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up.'
Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me.'
Moved beyond words, the executive tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.
'Thank you and may God bless you,' the grateful child told the stranger.
Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the executive never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message:

'Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!'

God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Friends! Who are these friends,Why are these friends for and what actually is the eternal meaning of the term 'Friends'. Well today am not in a mood to find the philosophical answer for these question. For me friendship is above all.I just cant express its value,its importance just through some articles like this. So you must be thinking what the hell is this post for.Guys,just chill! Tomorrow is so called friendship Day.Though I myself gets confused every time why a need for such a day.for me everyday is a friendship day.We friends are bound to each other for one or the other reason and thus we need our friends on day to day basis. Anyways dedicating a day from the calender especially for friends though is a fantastic way to show respect to this soul to soul relation. Everyone's life friends play very important role.With friends we can share everything which at times become difficult to share with even with our parents.Now a days parents too are like our friends than a mere guardian.But still that's a case different. Friends become a part of our joys and sorrows and life without friends is a really misery.At least i think so and i think most of the readers will support me too.Well there are so many life hanging around without friends.Then the question arises,Don't they live their living,Don't they enjoy the life.Answer is quite simple.They mite be living normal life without any friendship relation.But I will say,They are just living their life.Nothing more.According to me life without friendship is mere lifeless life. It was a lovely December morning in the hottest city in the world. All
right, so that was a little unfair. Chennai is not the hottest city in the
world. But it certainly is the city with the most uncomfortable weather
among the cities that I have lived in. And I've been around. But I digress.

I was in the company bus on my way to work, as usual trying to catch up with
my sleep. On this particular day, a girl got on the bus, came to my seat and
sat down. "Good Morning," she said. I looked back at her through half closed
eyes, replied "Good Night," and then proceeded to return to my half hour nap
before the bus reached the office. Unfortunately, I was
woken up by a punch in the arm.

"Wake up, bozo!" She was looking at me with a big smile on her face. "I'm
not sitting next to you to listen to you snore."

Half-heartedly, I opened my eyes and turned to her. "What's up?" I asked.

Preeti Mehra was tall, good-looking and slightly tomboyish. She was also my
best buddy. "Come on," she said. "Don't look so disappointed. You'd rather
sleep than talk to me?"

"I talk to you everyday, Preeti."

"You also sleep everyday."

"It's not enough."

"So you've had enough of talking to me, eh?"

You can't argue with a statement like that, so I had to give up. I grinned
and said, "OK, sweetheart. What's on your mind?"

"I wanted to tell you what happened yesterday. Can you guess?"

"Anurag called you last night."

"How did you know?" She was stunned.

"Oh, he asked me for your number yesterday."

"And you gave it to him?"

"What else could I do? And stop complaining. You've been drooling over him
for weeks now. He must have thought he had a chance."

Preeti was the kind of girl who would openly ogle at every other guy she
saw. And yet, she would not respond to any advances of a romantic nature.
She'd happily join a group of boys to go to a cricket match, but if asked
out to a movie, dinner, or even coffee, she'd never say yes. She defined

It was 12:00 am and my phone was ringing. "Hello," I said, as I picked it
up.

"Happy Birthday!" It was she.

"You're supposed to throw me a surprise party, sweetheart. Not just call to
say Happy Birthday."

"Well then open your door, dumbo!"

So I did and found her, cell-phone in hand, at my doorstep -- with what
seemed like half the population of my company. My roommates were supposed to
be working late that night. Now I knew why. I blew a lot of candles (seemed
like much more than 25), cut my cake, got kicked in the behind, and got
painted with the cake's icing. If Preeti had had her way, she'd probably
have preferred to use a paintbrush and a can of paint. But I bribed her with
a copy of the book "Lord of the Rings".
She'd borrowed it from me three times already. I thought it was about time I
gave her a copy for herself.

We chatted for an hour after everyone had gone. "I think it's time I left,"
she said finally, trying to stifle a yawn. I nodded. I dropped her home in
my roommate's car. As she was getting out of the car, I stopped her.

"Hey, Preeti."

"What?"

"Thanks."

"Hey, don't get senti on me now!" she smiled. "Are you trying to worm out of
that gift you promised me?"

"You know, it's interesting how I'm getting you a gift on my birthday."

"That's just because you're stupid," she grinned. "And you better get me
that book, or I won't return your copy."

"Hey, that copy was a gift to me from my dear friend Preeti Mehra. I can't
let you keep that."

She wasn't falling for that. "Your dear friend? And what about me? Am I not
dear to you?"

"Very smart. That won't work with me. I'm not one of your Love Crazy
suitors. Why do you need the book anyway? You've read it umpteen times
already."

"That is besides the point. You are getting me the book. We both know that."
She smiled that wide confident smile of hers. "Good night." And she got out
of the car.

I sat there for some time, just thinking. Our conversations were always like
this - a little joking, a little teasing and a lot of demanding. But
somehow, I felt that something had changed since the moment she had turned
up at my door that night. I was still in my reverie when a paper ball landed
on the windshield. I craned my neck out of the window and looked up. She was
standing in her balcony.

"What are you still doing there?" she whispered loudly.

"Waiting for you to start a paper-ball fight," I whispered back.

"We can do that tomorrow. Go home now. It's way past your bedtime!"

"Ok, mommy," I grinned back. "I'm going home now!"

I'm an extravagant gift-giver, and it is definitely going to be my downfall
some day. I made her wait for it, but finally bought her the book. That, and
half-a-dozen other omnibus collections of various authors, including a copy
each of `The Complete Works of Shakespeare' and `The Complete Short Stories
of Charles Dickens'. All I got for it was an "I told you so."

I started spending a lot of time at her place after that. Mostly because I
wanted to read all those books, and she wouldn't lend them to me.

"I'm not as stupid as you, ape-man. I'm not falling into the same trap I
laid for you. Plus, you dog-ear your books. You're not doing that to these
masterpieces. So if you want to read them, you read them here. And if you
want to mark your place, use a bookmark."

So that's what I did. She'd even make me wash my hands before I touched the
books. It was as if they were sacred.

"Need I remind you that it was me that bought you the books in the first
place? For my birthday!"

"So? They're mine now."

"Well, then. I've been meaning to ask you this for a long time. Where
exactly is my birthday gift?"

"It was in your tummy at one point of time. It's probably been washed into
the sea by now."

"Huh?"

"Remember the cake I baked you on your birthday?"

"You what? You can't bake cakes!" That was a mistake. She looked hurt.
"You baked me a cake?" She didn't say a word. She just shrugged.

I was stunned. "But you never told me."

"You didn't ask." That was typical of her.

"It was fantastic! And you wasted most of the icing on me!"

"The cake was for you, dumbo."

"How long did it take you to make the whole thing?" It had been a
two-layered vanilla-chocolate cake with three flavors of very creamy icing.
She had done all that!

"Well, the chocolate cake took an hour and fifteen minutes, and so did the
vanilla. Then cutting them up and putting them together took another 15
minutes. Each flavor of icing took 20 minutes for preparation, and then
putting it on the cake took another half hour. Cleaning up the mess took an
hour."

She seldom claimed the credit for anything, but once she started bragging,
there was no stopping her. However, I wasn't thinking about that right then.

"You spent over five hours on that cake?"

"A little over four hours preparing it, and an hour cleaning up. Yes."

I was speechless. I didn't know how to react. She hated cooking.

"I forgot to mention," she continued, "the hours I spent the week before
that, practicing. Even the birds wouldn't touch the first three cakes!"

I couldn't help but ask. "Why?"

"Because the first one got burnt, the second one was only half cooked, and
in the third one, I forgot to add sugar."

It was just like her, to try to divert the conversation. "I mean why did you
spend so much time on baking me a cake?"

She looked at me like I'd asked her why the sun rises in the east. "For your
birthday, stupid. Of course, I also wanted to beat every gift you've ever
got me. Try beating this one." She was grinning like she'd won the world
championship.

As far as I was concerned, she had. I'd never spent a week making her
anything. I'd never even spent an hour making her anything. Getting her a
gift normally involved me taking her to the store, letting her choose and
use my credit card. Suddenly, I felt cheap. "Thanks," was the only thing I
could say. "Thanks a lot."

"Hey. Are you getting senti on me again?"

I was.

I was still mulling over my feelings for Preeti the next day at work when my
boss asked to speak to me.

I went over to his cabin and he started with the usual greetings, asking how
work was going and whether I was comfortable. He then told me that the
company wanted to send me to New York for a couple of years. Normally, this
wouldn't have made much of a difference to me. I could work anywhere and
didn't have too much love for visiting places foreign. But right then, the
first thought that came to me was that I'd be away from Preeti for two whole
years. Twenty-four hours before, I'd have been disappointed to lose her
company. But right then, I was devastated. That was when I knew I was in
love with her. I'd had crushes before. Lots of them. But this was different.

"Do you have any problem in going?" my boss asked, since I hadn't responded.

"Not really," I replied. What else could I say? That I was in love, and
couldn't bear the separation?
"When do I have to leave?"

I had a month.

"Wow! New York! Great! I've heard it's a fantastic city! Did you know it
snows there in winter?" Preeti was obviously very excited about my going.
She didn't seem to share my disappointment on what I now saw as
'separation'..

I had not decided then if I was going to tell her how I felt. We'd known
each other for a little over a year, and we were very close, but beyond some
mild flirting, the relationship had never got even close to romantic. That
was, of course, until I found out she had spent a week baking me a cake.
It's funny how small things seem to make such a big difference.

"What happened?" she asked. "You don't seem very happy."

"Oh," I replied, "it's just that it's so sudden, that's all. And you know I
was never all that interested in going to America."

"What an idiot. Go see the place. I've heard the women there are amazingly
beautiful." She had a sly smile on her face. I wanted to tell her I didn't
care if I laid my eyes on another woman again, if she wasn't with me. But I
didn't.

I realized that I only had another month with her. She'd rejected every guy
who'd asked her out ever since I'd known her. I didn't want the same to
happen to me, and I didn't want to make it awkward between us. I didn't want
to risk that month. I wanted it to be the best time I had ever spent with
her. After I came back from the US, I might not even get to meet her
again. Two years was a long time.
We ate out almost every night. We visited some of the best restaurants in
the city. She also helped me shop for warm clothes, formalwear, shoes,
toothpaste and a million things I'd never have thought of on my own.

"You need to buy a nail-cutter." My roommates and I shared one.
"I've prepared a list of must-have medicines that you should carry."

"Your iron won't work in the US. No point buying one here as you need one
that works at a hundred and ten volts and has flat pins. You can buy one at
a K-Mart or Wal-Mart as soon as you get there."

"You need at least two pairs of formal shoes and at least ten pairs of dark
socks. The East Coast has a formal dress code. And you won't do your laundry
more than once a week or two."

"How many ties do you have? And which trousers do your blazers go with?"

"Better get a haircut before you leave from here. Knowing you, you'll
postpone the first haircut for too long."

She'd call me up at one in the morning to tell me to add 'one more item' to
my list.

And with every passing day, I was falling more deeply in love with her.

The month swept by quickly. The day I was supposed to leave, I asked her to
come with me to the airport. "Of course, dumbo. You think I'd let you go
just like that, or what?"

After packing my bags for me and checking the lists for the hundredth time,
she finally pronounced me "Good to go."

We reached the airport four hours early to beat the rush, because it was an
international flight. She got a visitor's pass to sit in the waiting area
while I went ahead and checked-in my bags. Preeti had got a spring balance
from somewhere and so we knew my bags were well within the weight limit. I
finished the formalities and came to sit with her. We had only a few hours
before I had to go for my security-check. We decided to get something to eat
at the food court. And all the time, the one thing that was going through my
head was that, after this, I wouldn't see her for at least another two
years.

"Hey, Champ. Why so glum?" She saved 'Champ' for special days. Normally, it
was just 'dumbo', 'bozo', 'ape-man', 'matchstick man', 'weirdo', or if she
was very irritated with me, 'nutcase'.

"I don't want to go," I said.

"I don't want you to go either."

"No, you don't understand." I couldn't hold it in any longer. "I can't stand
the thought of living without you by my side."

She stared at me. There was a strange look in her eyes. I couldn't read it.

"I am madly in love with you, Preeti."

At this, a sound escaped her lips that sounded like a cross between a sob
and a laugh. "Well, dumbo, you've picked an absolutely fabulous time to tell
me about it!"

A tear escaped her eyes. It was all I could do to stop myself from wiping it
off her cheeks.

"How long have you felt this way?" She seemed amused, though she was
definitely crying. I didn't know what to make of it.

"From the day I found out you had baked me a cake."

She laughed. "That's all it took? Well, bozo, I guess a way to a man's heart
is certainly through his stomach! Hold it. A month? You waited a month? You
were the one who kept saying that if you really liked a girl you wouldn't
waste a day in telling her!" She was smiling widely now. It looked funny,
with her eyes all wet.

"Well, I was confused. How did I know how you'd react? In fact, I still
don't understand your reaction. I thought it would change things between us.
You've rejected every guy who ever proposed to you!"
"That's because I'm in love with you, you overgrown idiot!"

"What?" Somehow, I'd never expected her to say that. She was in love with
me? "How long have you been in love with me?"

"Ever since the day you offered to carry my suitcase for me."

"But that was the first day I met you!"

"I guess I was always a sucker for chivalry."

"All this time you've been in love with me and you never said anything! Then
you go and complain that I waited a month!"

"You guys are so bad at reading a girl's mind."

"You women are so good at keeping your thoughts a secret! Even Einstein
couldn't figure you out."
"Einstein was a nerd. Casanova, on the other hand, understood us very well."

"I love you."

"I know."

That moment, my dear friends, was magic. I looked into her eyes and took her
hands in mine. Physical contact for us had been limited, until then, to a
punch in the arm, a slap on the back of the head, or giving each other a
'high five'.

"You realize, don't you," she said, "that this is our first date?" Leave it
to her to notice the little things.

"I really don't want to go." I'd always maintained that love is a bucketful
of emotions. I wasn't exactly delighted to be proved right.
"Don't worry. I'm coming there in a couple of months."

"How? On a dependent visa?"

She laughed. "For that, I'll have to wait, won't I? I've got a project in
New Jersey."

I couldn't believe my ears. "What? When did that happen? You never even told
me!"

"Well, I wasn't sure you'd propose before you left. And I couldn't exactly
sacrifice you to those New York women, could I? I had to watch out for
myself. So I went on a project-hunting spree. There is an opportunity coming
up for a project in about two months. Someone is coming back to India, so
I'll be taking his place. They want me there for a little less than two
years." She was beaming. "I realized I had struck gold!"

"And if I'd not told you how I felt? When were you planning on telling me
about it?"

"Around a month before I reached there. I had to make it look natural. Or
you'd think I was desperate."

"Well, you are desperate!" This was incredible. All I'd done in the past
month had been to mope around, listen to sad songs and write her letters
that I never intended her to read. "You've been scheming all this while! How
come you didn't lay a trap for me a year ago?"

"I tried giving you hints, dumbo, but you just wouldn't pay attention!"
She was laughing. "You're the only guy I ever spent any time with. Wasn't
that a big enough hint?"

That was true. She would happily join a group of boys to go to a cricket
match, but I now realized, only if I was one of them.

"What if I had rejected you?" I was extremely flattered that she'd been
crazy about me for a year. My ego was swelling.

"You must be kidding!" she was clearly amused. "I get proposed to every few
days. You are the one who's been rejected more times in the last year than I
can count on two pairs of hands!"

She really knew how to burst my bubble.

"Hey," she said softly, "don't look so dejected. I said 'Yes', didn't I?"

I grinned. "Yes, you did. And you've made me a very happy man. But you know
what would make me even happier?"

"What?"

"If you learn to cook as good as you bake cakes."

So she punched me in the arm again.

Am back once again with a feature on Firefox.This time not with any version blah-blah.lolzzz
But recently i downloaded a new add-on for Firefox 3.0. This add-on is called as FAST DIAL.
Its really an amazing add-on i have come across.Once the add-on is installed,next time you open a new Firefox window/tab,the default about blank window will be replaced by so many thumbnails.Now the question arises what are these thumbnails.At the beginning these thumbnails are blank and need to be configured by you.Actually these thumbnails represent for the websites that you visit regularly.You can save all the websites that you visit most often as a thumbnail for fast dialing.There are many other options provided to you by fast dial.

Why Does Life Keep teaching Me Lessons,
I Have No Desire To Learn.

A wonderful quote which i have come across recently.The inner meaning of the quote has much relevant meaning within itself.This life of ours does teach us a lot of lessons,which at most of the times none of us would be interested to learn.Lesson taught by life can take any forms.And the fact is that most of the lessons is always against our wills.The only one solution which I come across is that we are not in control of our life.Actually life controls life.
When we say that we control our life and its activities,then how come without our will,our own life keeps teaching us lesson which we are not interested to learn.Its a matter to be given a thought.Thinking about this fact always has lead me to a new confusion all throughout.And the only one solution which i come across is that we are not in control of our life.Actually life controls life.

Here the life can be any factor around you.it can be external factors which do influence your life very much and that you are not in a position to control the influence which it puts in your life that you are in no position to actually lead the life of your choice.So Life will teach you lesson of its own which you are forced to accept,and it doesn't give a damn thought whether you are interested or not.So its better that you mould yourself to accept what life wants to teach you and be prepared to master the lessons and live according to you with basics of the lessons taught.One who masters the lessons which the life has taught him,Then it is not to be an argument that he will be a successful candidate who apart from mastering the lessons taught to him by the life,but also he will be mastered on how to lead a successful life on his own principles.

The program will be showing on air every Friday and Saturday night 9 pm on Sony channel.Am really looking forward for this program.Unlike other game shows here there is no right answer for any question.here the participant has to answer in percentages.for example questions which was asked in the very first episodes to the very first contestant was "What percentage of Indian couples spent their first night sleeping?" , "What percentage of Indian men know to roll chapathi's?" etc etc. and the contestant has to give the answer in the range of percentage like 30% to 50% men know to roll chapathis and if the actual answer is within the range answered then the contestant clears the question.likewise they have to answer for 5 questions and if all the 5 question is correctly answered he/she will be the proud owner of 10 crores.

A True Love Story.....

Very Shocking.... .

This is a real story of a young college girl who passed away last month in
Chandigarh. Her name was Priya. She was hit by a truck.

She was working in a call center. She had a boy friend named Shankar.
Both of them were true lovers. They always talked on the phone.
In fact she also changed her cell connection from Airtel to Hutch, so that both of them can
be on the same network, and save on the cost.

She used to spend half of the day talking with shankar. Priya's family knew about their relationship.. Shankar was very close to Priya's family as well. (Just imagine their
love) . Before she passed away she always told her friends 'If I pass away
please burn me with my handphone' she also said the same thing to her parents.

After her death, people cudnt carry her body, A lot of them tried to do so
but still cant everybody had tried to carry the body, the results were the
same. Eventually, they called a person known to one of their neighbours, who

What Iam trying to conclude is a friend,unforgettable moments spent,promises of long lasting relation, what if all these are just a timely matter which has to disappear the next time you open your eyes.In short, what if your so called loving best friend kick you simply because they are a step ahead you or simply because they are fed up of the relation.Well,once again you cant just say it wasn't friendship at all which dwelled between the two souls,because a moment before this you considered the relation to be above all and your trust on it was all above,which means you know the person so closely that you can never expect such a shacking moment ever to come.
Pain is what you feel in that case, and if friendship is such a sacred relation between two souls or a group of souls,then what is this pain for??
I tried to answer this question with so many theories, but none matched to the so much of high standard thoughts about friendship.So my search for the answer is still on.But am just not all confident that i will ver get into some conclusion,because what ever answer i rest upon,a new question would surely arise which will contradict it.so my final question would be,Does the question "FRIENDSHIP: Ship Of Love or Hate?" has got any valid answer for itself?

Yahoo Messenger : New target for Hackers

Hackers have found a new target after e-mails. Instant messenger’s are the new target for hackers as they are not treated as vulnerable and hacker attractor’s by most of the people compared to e-mails.

Eweek has reported multiple vulnerabilities in Yahoo Messenger which hackers can use to remotely execute code.

“Upon learning of the issue, we began working on a fix,” Yahoo! spokesperson Terrell Karlsten tells eWEEK. She declined further comment until she had more details.

A Yahoo! spokesperson confirmed the company is looking into a buffer overflow issue in an Active X control. The company also said the vulnerabilities, which have obtained a rating of “high” by eEye Digital Security, were reported to Yahoo! on June 5 but are not known to have been exploited. Version 8.x of Yahoo! instant messaging (IM) client is at risk.

In addition, officials from security research firm Secunia say, a boundary error within the Yahoo! Webcam Upload (ywcupl.dll) ActiveX control can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by assigning an overly long string to the ‘Server’ property and then calling the ‘Send()’ or ‘ Receive ()’ method.

A study by Akonix Systems in San Diego (May 2007), a provider of instant messaging security and compliance products, uncovered 170 IM threats—an increase of 73 percent when compared to the number the company found between January and May of 2006.

Understand Bank Guarantee Process Before Joining Satyam

I am writing this for those of my Satyamite Colleagues who have not understood the bank guarantee process.

WHAT THE GUARANTEE IS:
If you are going to join Satyam Computer service as a fresher,then you will have to show a bank guarantee of Rs.2 Lakhs for first two years of joining.If you leave satyam before the mandatory period(2 years) then your money is handed over to satyam.

HOW TO GET A BANK GUARANTEE:
This bank guarantee is available from SBI.Humaun Nagar branch,Hyderabad.
To avail the bank guarantee of two lakhs you can do--->

1)Fixed deposit of Rs. 2 Lakhs in SBI for 2 years
OR
2)Take a loan of Rs 2 Lakhs from SBI

(Bank guarantee charges Rs.2500)

IF OPTED FOR FIXED DEPOSIT

If you have rs 2 Lakhs in your hands. then you can go for this option.
Just collect a bank draft in favor of, SBI, Humaun Nagar Branch, Hyderabad of rs. 2,02,500/- Rs.2500 extra for bank guarantee charge] & submit it in the destination bank.you will get a Sealed Envelope from that bank official.You will have to submit that envelope to Satyam while reporting.

AFTER 2 YEARS YOU WILL GET:- Rs 2 lahks+intrest ~ Rs.2,36,000

IF OPTED FOR A LOAN

If you don't have that money( Rs. 2lakhs),then you have to go for this option.Just find a person whose income is more/equal to 2 lakhs/annum and agree to sign as guarantor.

There are a number of EMI schemes.The most popular schemes are:

(1)You can chose to pay Rs. 5,460/- P.M.
In such case you will get back Rs. 1,20,000/- at the end of 2 years.

(2)You can choose to pay RS. 2,500/- P.M. for 24 months at the end of 2 years you will get back Rs. 36,000/-

(3)You can also opt for payment of RS. 1250/- but at the end of 2 years you will not get any thing.

Chaos Chaos Everywhere..This isn't any phrase from any poem.it is something which is related to we engineering final years.The final countdown has begun.Final semester exam dates has been announced.project presentation and demonstration dates has been announced.Various postponed tests are going on.Nothing is going well.A lot of task to be completed in a limited time available.Well confused on what the header is all about. It has to do something with my groups final year project work.Being an electronics student I always was interested in developing some system related to communication field.So when we had to select a project for our sixth semester course,which is just a mini project work,my group of five members decided to develop a system related to communication.Our search finally ended on a paper which discussed about sending data's through lasers.It sounded quite interesting.Sending information using LASER BEAM as a communication channel..Yeppie...sounds cool na...but we made up our mind to take this as a challenge and work on this project..It was really a tough task to completely accomplish this task of sending data's through laser beams.there were many issues which was needed to be resolved.but at the end of the semester we were successfully in developing a tranciever system which was able to transmit text files between two computers at a distance of few kilometers.but due to the time constraint we were not able to configure the system to transmit various kinds of data such as mp3 files,word files pdf files etc..Also we successfully developed a software for our communication system which was actually written in C language.The purpose of this software is to build an interface for making a real time chat possible between two computers using the laser beam as the channel for data transmission.It was all fun chatting through our system.It was like our dream come true.this was the story of my groups mini project work.Main project was yet to come.Main project was required to be completed in a time period of two semesters.Our search for a main project ended when our Project Co-coordinator suggested a communication system using chaotic signal as a carrier.Sounded cool.Chaotic Signal..Hearing it for the first time.
We referred some of the journal on the chaotic signal.it sounded really interesting.So finally we settled on this particular project named "FPGA BASED CHAOTIC COMMUNICATION"..It was really fun during the entire project phase.We enjoyed and learned a lot.We were able to learn FPGA kits available in lab.Generation of chaotic signal was a tough task.We chose to write VHDL codes for generating the chaotic signal.Our project guide and an external guide helped us through to successfully write the codes for the chaotic signal generator system and also the entire transmitter system.But due to the time constraints we were forced to restrict ourself to developing only transmitter section of the communication system.And we were successfully able to develop the transmitter system using Xilinx ISE tool and the simulation was too successful.But due to a lot of semester exams interfering in between the project works we couldn't implement the system on FPGA board.But after final semester exam our group is planning to configure the logic Analyzer available in our VLSI Lab and implement the system on FPGA board.Also our project guide (also the department HOD) has asked us to submit the paper about our project to some national & international paper presentations.
So a part of our group is also working hard to bring this into reality.

Mistakes done while filling details can’t be corrected if submitted once, but don’t worry you can correct these mistakes at the time of reporting.
Almost every new joinee faces so many confusions while filling it, so I want to clear those confusions.
First of all, you will get your virtue ID and password, within 2-3 days of receiving your OL else you can mail helpdesk with your ref. no. and ask them to send ID and password. To access e support, open https://esupport.satyam.com and sign in then accept offer, yea always do this thing as soon as you can after receiving ID and password, I have heard some cases of postponement of joining in case not accepting it, even in neutral cases too i.e. you don’t click on any, accept or reject. Now turn to fill all details, you can do this thing anytime, as once you have replied regarding acceptance of offer, you don’t need to worry, but better to complete all formalities well in time .
Mistakes done while filling details can’t be corrected if submitted once, but don’t worry you can correct these mistakes at the time of reporting, but try to submit details only when you are confirmed about things filled by you and you have checked it twice atleast.
One more thing, so many joinees face problem regarding e support like some message and not opening, in that case you need to do a mail to helpdesk mentioning the problem and you will get your problem solved.

3. Nomination forms:
Nominees are persons, who will get all your salary dues, insurance and other claims, gratuities, in case something accidental happens with you. Generally you can opt either of your parents or both. As nominees may ask to come at Satyam office so it depends on you whom you want to opt (thus generally joinees opt Father as only nominee), and regarding to percentage you can give any percentage to any nominee (if you opt more than one) but sum must be equal to 100.

8. Pretraining Studies:

This is the question asked by so many joiners coz they have lot free time between their joining and last exams of Grad or some try to be sincere with starting of their career, but luckily here answer is enjoy your holidays , yeah, you just need to study only those 4 basic subjects mentioned at Adhayan i.e. C, DS, OS & DBMS. Because you don’t know in which you will be trained, it’s a procedure which decides your further working field, A number game e.g. they have 3 fields...C (given no. 1), C++ (no. 2) & Java (no. 3) and you have to choose one of the numbers between 1-3 (here you don’t know which no. stands for which field) and hence you get your training and working field, However if you wish you can exchange your field (Obviously if one of the your fellow in that field is ready to replace you), keep in mind can’t be changed only exchange is possible. So you know now how to prepare for Satyam and in which field.

8. Regarding Dress Code:

For Guys & Gals

Guys:

Mon-Fri: Tucked-in Light Color Shirt (preferably plain OR very light lines/checks), Dark Trouser, Dark color sox (white sox not allowed at all), Leather Shoes (Black / Brown) - no slip-ons.
On Tuesday: Neck Tie is mandatory.
Saturday : Informal/Casuals, which includes Tucked-in Shirts & T-shirts (only collared), Trousers, Jeans (NOT with tears & ragged edges), Leather shoes, sport shoes(no sandals, chappals, slippers).

Gals:

Mon-Fri: Indian Formals: Salwaar Suits, Saree, sandals.
Western Formals: Trousers, Formal Shirts, Full Skirts, Leather Shoes.
On Tuesday: Saree OR Western Formals are mandatory for Gals.
Saturday: Full Skirts, Top, Trousers, Collared T-Shirts, sandals (+ Gents informal attire)

9. Bench period:

First of all let me explain, what is Bench-Period?? It’s the time period between End of your training period and allotting you a group with project...I hope you get, yeah you don’t immediately get project work just after finishing of your training, you have to wait for it, as much as I heard about Satyam, Its average bench-period is 3-4 months...starting from 1-2 days up to 7-8 months, depends on your luck mainly, field and availability of project in that field and few more which are not in your hand.
Generally people call this period as Honeymoon period at Satyam, However I haven’t experience it and wish not to have it. In this honeymoon... period, you have to go office daily as all employees do and give your attendance and have to sit there around 1-3 Hrs. and then you can go back to home or some times they can ask you to sit there and do studies at Satyam Learning World (SLW), and no doubt you get same package here as if you are in any project team else incentives.... So better work hard during training period and too pray hard to the God...

6. Regarding Medical test :

However you can give the Medical test at HYD too, but if u get it done at else where (Satyam has mentioned 8 centers through out India in your OL) you just have to get it at least 2 days before joining. Its very simple procedure and as much as I know either free or with a very nominal charges. If by chance you failed to this test they call you some time later and again take your test...On the basis of failure Satyam don’t throw out any one, your joining may be postponed until you get it clear.

7. Regarding Bank Guarantee (BG):

Here again Satyam is no tension company... ..bond is just to ensure tat u will stay @ Satyam atleast 2 yrs and nothing hidden there behind it...however if u leave Satyam midway...it may become a complex procedure....else not to worry at all...and I am sure this post going to relieve all a lot...its most wanted information... ...However reading Bank format can help you a lot...although I am writing few main points here...

So there are 2 methods for BG: Either deposit 2 lakhs cash as FD or you can take loan...

1. Payment of full Deposit money of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
If you deposit / or bring DD for Rs. 2,00,000/- along with Rs. 2,500/- BG Commission.
BG will be issued by SBI at Hyderabad.
At the end of 2years you will get back approximately Rs. 2,36,000/-
No need to do any formalities at your place. Only fill up Form NO. III and being DD / or FD Receipt. One day before to place of reporting (Place of reporting only). i.e., if you place of reporting is Chennai you bring that to Chennai Satyam Office and if it is Hyderabad, then to any one of the addresses given in the Format.

Regarding Bank Guarantee...contd...
2. If you can not bring Rs.2.00 lakhs, you can take a loan of Rs. 2,00,000/-
For This You need to identify one Guarantor who is good for Rs. 2,00,000/-
Or Two guarantors each one is good for Rs. 1,00,000/-
The Guarantor can be any body , Uncle / Parents / or Friend .

Guarantor should have
i) Form 16 OR IT Return OR Sufficient proof of Income.
ii) Photo Identity
iii) Address Proof

The Guarantor need not come to the place of reporting. If the Guarantor can not come to place of reporting
a) He should be taken to the nearest SBI in your town.
b) That SBI Branch will attest the signature of the Applicant and Guarantor on Form No. I.
If you face any difficulty at the branch, please contact

c) That Branch will give back the Forms by putting in a cover.

Now...Not many people know this but bank guarantee from any nationalized bank is allowed. You can call the helpdesk and confirm it. For e.g. If you go to bank of India and they can issue you the bank guarantee for just a deposit of 50,000, that is 25% of the guarantee value. BUT not all banks may agree to do this, if u have goodwill with some bank or your father works there or you know the manager then the bank may give it for 25%. Mostly banks take full deposit but it’s up to your contacts. 25% is the minimum that a manager can do with his powers but you need some goodwill or such thing. ANY NATIONALIZED BANK IS ALLOWED. Format of bank guarantee is IBA format (INDIAN BANKER's ASSOCIATION format) if you go to any other bank than SBI just tell them this thing...

Leave comments if you have any querry.
Once you got selected for Satyam means your name has been declared in final list at your selection drive, then you need not to be worry about your Offer letter at least for 2-3 months and then Satyam sends you, your OL through mails only and generally to complete batch so if your batchmates start getting OLs and even after about 1-2 months passing of that you don’t get your OL, you must contact to help desk at helpdesk@satyam.com or call to 1800 345 4004 Satyam help desk extension is 5 for joining helpdesk that will solve your problem surely...and keep this in mind Satyam gives OL through mails, i.e. only soft copy...hard copy will be given to you at the time of reporting..., so All the Best.

2. E-support & related formalities:

Generally you get your Virtue-Id with OL or very soon after receiving your OL. By this Virtue-Id you can log on to www.esupport.satyam.com , where you have to fill a lot information about you...if don’t do that, no worry at all you will have to fill all these things at the time of your joining... , yeah on the joining day you get forms, which are directly printouts of record of your these accounts so better to feel a bit comfortable there fill them at home......here again if you facing any problem regarding virtue-Id...Its better to contact helpdesk...and you are advised to contact them between 10 AM-1 PM on work days for getting quick response...

Now about package, Although Satyam mentions your package in your OL with full details you must refer to it and another thing is that at Satyam, people have same package in training duration too and what you will get in hand depends on your designation and salary mentioned in OL...coz Salary offered to you depends on your designation and your Institute’s band in Satyam (i.e. IITs, NITs, Others)...

4. Regarding Advancing & postponing Date of joining (DOJ):

However acc. to best of my knowledge advancing DOJ is not possible, yeah but you can get it postponed. For this you have to contact HR person mentioned in your OL or any other and then you can tell him/her proper reason for postponing your DOJ, how’s simple it is??...

5. Regarding Adhayan I-d & password:

Adhayan is Satyam’s online study centre, containing notes of some basic subjects like C, DS, OS & DBMS. To access it at http://svl.satyam.com/Adhyayan , you need I-d & password, which you will get through mail, about 1-2 months after receiving your OL. There they calculate your time spend on site and have a record of it and you have some online tests too, to evaluate yourself, you can give at most one test a day and they keep the track of your test scores too...but, but the thing is that it never gonna affect you at Satyam else increment in your knowledge means it doesn’t matter in your joining.

Feelings,Emotions...Now a days these words seems strange to me.I have had enough of with this life that finally one day i decided to break of these words from my life.What i wanted to say is i have killed my emotions with my own hands.And the days without these so called emotions like sadness,happiness,anger etc is awesome for me.But when taken example of a normal person(....) emotions play an important role of his day to day life.Reader reading this post will also agree to that emotion is indeed a part of life.Yeah I too agree to it.And it was important in my life too as it is with others.But this is life .This is reality.And after having a short but awesome experiences in my life i just decided to cut off these so called part of life.
There a lot things which if kept within is better. And for that i feel that personally the decision which i have taken of being little different from others is the best decision i have taken in my life ever.
After effects...Well for every decision making, after effects of those decisions must be pre-analyzed..I too analyzed its after effects.But when i say this is the best ever decision taken on me by me,then who cares about the after effects.An emotionless person as far as i know can only hurt others.And i think i have hurt many being indifferent from them.But am helpless being like this.I know i might lose some of my best pals by my changed attitude..But if ever they were my best pals i know i wont lose them and they will be with me forever as my best pals forever

Huhhh...Some how i managed to reach class before the lecturer entered.Then began the so called Microwave session.He takes class so well,explains well in fact he is the only lecturer over @ ECE who is that devoted towards teaching.But does this stop me from dozing the very first class of the day.I gradually realized his was the only class i couldn't help sleeping. And the reason is yet to be explored.

And finally he goes out after an hour of class.He would have continued the whole day with the spirit he was going on.Thank god it did not happen. Most of the lecturers where not permanent and which means we have full freedom to "LAVISH" in the class.I sit at the back bench which is occupied by the funkiest gang of mine.Past three years we enjoyed like anything sitting at the back bench.So many funky games introduced to play during the boring hours to name a few FILLBILL,BINGO etc..According to me girls of my class are the most funny characters in fact they must be given awards for their tolerance.
At noon the same "BATHAKKA JUICE N CHICKEN ROLL".. having it for past few years now we have been used to such a diet as our lunch.While having this amazing combination some one suggests -BUNK'.There goes an approval to that suggestion and wrooom we are back to our home.But the award winning so called girls of our class and some bookworm always stick around the college till the last hour and returns back with a hope of enjoying 6 hours the coming day.And we the funky thinks of who is gonna come out with a similar suggestion as today so that we are saved from those killer hours and back to our dens safely.

Huh...Disgusting it is..
Well,It is my mobile alarm ringing the moment it strikes to 5:30 a.m
But after that late night net surfing{Chatting with cuties mostly..},do you expect me to expose myself to the chilling December winter that too at 5:30 a.m.
Haaah..you guessed it right.There goes the nokia 6230i under the pillow and there goes the blanket all over me again.
Whooosh...Slap.....Ohhh no not again..There stands my mom struggling to pull over the blanket from me and shouting ".....Its 8 am...." Me still with the early morning dream faintly heard that 8 am.But 8 am...Ohh no am dead..

just half an hour more to go and i have to reach college to attend MICROWAVE special class.If it was some other subject i would have preferred spending that half hour under the blankets.But microwave subject.No one from my class would take the chance.So did i.The lecture who engages this particular subject is very punctual and which means i have just a few minutes to reach the college.{Thank god the college is near to my residence}

Disabling Task Manager

Disabling Registry Editor

Creates a startup entry to start upon sys

Missing general tab in Internet Explorer which contains buttons to clear history and stuff.???????????? Here is how to bring general tab back CLICK START BUTTON > CLICK ON RUN or (WinKey + R) & type in “regedit” this will take you to your registry, where you have to go to repair the issue. Once there, on the left side there go to the following… Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Policies>Microsoft>Internet Explorer>Control Panel On the right side there is data “GeneralTab“. After GeneralTab is REG_SZ and then is value 0 or something. Right click entry “GeneralTab” and click modify. Then write 0×00000000 (0) at Value data. Click ok and close window. Open internet explorer and general is visible again.

Heyy friends...are you a mobile freak like me.then the header must have caught your eyes. And those who own an N95 mobile,you freaks just cant believe this amazing fact. Here iam posting about an application for nokia N95 mobile phones called RockNscroll.This application is from Keynetik. This application lets the user to give input to the phone based on the hand motion while he is holding it. It works on the principle of Dual Motion and Step Motion Sensor Technology.
For example, when you are in the page where there are lots of applications and the first application is highlighted but if you want to choose the next application, you just move the phone to that side with a bit of force. To select the application, move the phone downwards and if you want to go the previous page move the phone upwards. You can also change the input modes, so that the selection moves if you just tilt the phone rather than applying a forceful move. This is much useful when you are selecting a big song play list or similar things. Also like Apple iPhone, you can change the direction of the screen from portrait to landscape or vice versa. The best of all is that this input method improves the gaming experience, where you don’t click or press any buttons, you just tilt the phone anyway you want and the target moves. It’s just awesome! You need to have it to experience it. I guess this will be the best application for any handheld devices like mobile phones (especially higher end phones like Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, iPhone) with Symbian or Windows Mobile, Gaming devices like Sony PSP etc. And the next best thing is that IT’S FREE!!! How to Minimize and Maximize Windows Using Keyboard Shortcuts in XP

Keyboard shortcuts save a lot of time when you have to use the same process again and again. Some of the uncommon keyboard shortcuts in Windows XP are using shortcuts to minimize and maximize a window.

So here are the keyboard shortcuts for minimizing and maximizing a Window:
To minimize all the windows you can use the keyboard shortcut Windows Key + M or you can also use show desktop (Windows Key + D). I prefer the shortcut for show desktop as you can press it again to show the last active window .

To minimize only the active window, press alt + spacebar and then press N.

Sometimes when you open an application and if it opens by covering only half of the total window size and if you would like to maximize it, you can use the shortcut keys alt + spacebar and then X.

To close an active window, press alt + Spacebar and then C

Other highly used keyboard shortcut would be to lock the computer. Use Windows Key + L to lock the computer. You can also set up a desktop shortcut to lock the computer.

Well friends, Everyday as i switch on my computer and connect to the internet and check ma blog, there is a tendency in myself to scribble something about ma experience,my feelings, my views about the days spent in LBSCE.But as i sit down thinking of the first few beginning lines,i just get a feeling..a feeling which can never be expressed in papers or blogs.Its a feeling which is special..in fact i will say,its a sacred feeling for me. But the days or time spent in LBSCE were not so cheering all the times.There were times when situation was worse and helpless.Not much bothered to scribble what are the factors which cause a college life damn hell.But apart from the tough times,there some good memorable times too{thanxx to the wonderful friends who made the college life memorable in some sense} ""When it hurts to look back and your scared to look ahead you can look beside you and your best friend will be there."

"Friendship is like a violin; the music may stop now and then, but the strings will last forever."

As the days passes,memories of college life flash backs every now and then.From first year first day till today..everyday did count in together to make a good and bad memory.Anyways memories are memories,let it be good or bad.Good memories will be there forever and bad ones taught a fine experience.bad or good..memories are memories and memories are to be cherished. There were a lot funny moments at LBSCE, when i say funny obviously there will be funny friends around who were with me most of the time making all sort of situation cool and lively. Countdown has begun, the countdown to finish and pack up everything from college,pack up the memories you had had here,pack up the knowledge you attained here..and move on and on and on.

Hiii my dear friends.
So all you out there must be wondering why this blog is not active for past one month.
well...let me give you the reason for that.
Actually my 7th semester exam was going on.
The whole one month was very much stressful. Exams are always stressful.rite?
but final year exam is a real head ache.No one would like to have backs at this point of time.
5 papers continuous.just a gap of one day.papers that would eat your head.ya thats engineering life.
but when writing each exam there is a feeling of satisfaction.know what? Its that the no. of papers one has to write in engineering is getting lessened after each exam..Now just final semester exam.and after that..huhhh.....an end to all those examzz..
And friends wondered whats the relevance of the header for this post...Its that just a month left in college.And the countdown for days in college has begun........

Bollywood: 2 Promising New-comers

With some of the senior (not age-wise) heroines, moving on to more mature roles, there is a genuine paucity of leading ladies in Bollywood. Thankfully, the year has seen two promising newcomers, with good histrionic capabilities and stunning screen presence. Obviously Iam referring to Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

While the 'Sakina' of SAAWARIYA has bagged a plush role opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Rakeysh Mehra's DILLI 6, her compatriot, 'Shanti' of OM SHANTI OM, has three good projects lined up. And the lady confirms all three.

The first project that she will shoot for (from next month) is Nikhil Advani's CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, opposite Akhshay Kumar. After that it will be the Yash Raj project with Ranbir Kapoor. The third one (in the pipeline) is with the 'Chotey Nawab', Saif Ali Khan.
