Bipasha to kick start New Year by buying a scooter

Mumbai: Glam doll Bipasha Basu is making New Year resolutions like most of us. She plans to kick start her New Year with buying herself a new scooter.

Bipasha is all set to tour Mumbai on her scooter and make all the heads turn.

It seems that John Abraham’s love for two wheelers has rubbed off on Bipasha as well and she is all game to speed up on the streets of Mumbai.

“Both, John and me are in love with two wheelers. It is fun riding on them, only if all the safety rules and regulations are kept in mind,” says Bipasha.

However, her riding the bike skills may not be as good as her knowledge about it’s safety and rules. “I have not yet graduated to riding a bike. I think the scooter is convenient and as a child I have been on the bicycle. It is a different story that I fell a lot of times,” adds Bipasha.

WELCOME and TZP benefit due to Jodha Akbar's delay

Welcome being a super-success and Taare Zameen Par showing steady escalation isn't news any more. What is news though is an extended great run at the box office for both the films, which is pretty much on the cards now due to Jodha Akbar being postponed to February. Though the official date being cited is February 15, there are still doubts if this would stick on to be the final date.

With coming weeks boasting of mostly small/medium budget productions with a limited market and only a handful of films which could be taken seriously, it greatly helps the prospects of Welcome and Taare Zameen Par to enjoy a longish stay at the screens.

Coming Friday sees Return of Hanuman and Showbiz. While Anurag Kashyap has been quoted as saying that "Return of Hanuman could be as big a blockbuster as Om Shanti Om,” Mukesh Bhatt has maintained that "Showbiz would work with word of mouth going in it's favor". The fact still remains that none of the two films are expected to embark on an earth-shattering opening, hence allowing Akshay and Aamir to stay strong even in the second week.

A film like Manthan Ek Kashmakash that may release on January 4 (deadly first weekend of a year), spells Z grade from miles away and the only thing it guarantees is an inauspicious beginning to 2008.

A week later things turn better but still not in a way which could announce Halla Bol at the box office. Bombay To Bangkok is a small film by Iqbal team of Subhash Ghai, Nagesh Kukunoor and Shreyas Talpade and would see a limited release. Raj Kumar Santoshi, who would be desperate for a box office, has announced, "Halla Bol is a wake-up call for our collective conscience" while also clarifying that this Ajay Devgan (who plays a superstar) starrer is not set in the film industry. The film again belongs to ‘wait and watch’ category, as is the case with the third release of the January 11-My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, which marks the debut of Nikhil Dwivedi.

Earlier this month, producer Surendra Bhatia had postponed his Rajpal Yadav, Ashish Chaudhary, Neha Dhupia starrer Rama Rama Kya Hai Dramaaa stating, "There are number of biggies slated for a release in December, and we would be forced to vacate theatres/multiplexes once these films release." The situation definitely has improved as January 18 currently stands as an open weekend for this comedy. Still, it is more or less a negligible competition for Welcome and Taare Zameen Par.

The first major competition, which comes, the way of Akshay and Aamir is Sunday which hits the screens on January 25, 2008. "The film unabashedly promises to be a mix of action, comedy, romance, and thrills. Director Rohit Shetty appears to have a winner in hands," says a trade insider. A solo release, it is followed by small/medium budget films like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Superstar, promotion for which is still to begin.

What this means for both Welcome and Taare Zameen Par is that both the films would now have more or less an uninterrupted run for an almost 8 weeks! Astonishing, since in the times when there is competition arriving every Friday, Akshay and Aamir would have as many as two open months for their films.

Orkut introduces new privacy features!

Hopes that by this time most of you around here must be the member of
ORKUT social networking site..here most annoying thing everyone must have noticed is that earlier they did not provide privacy to your scrapbook,albums,videos etc..

Finally orkut has introduced a new set of privacy features that were much needed by the community especially in the wake of the latest crimes that we hear coming out of orkut! So, finally orkut has taken the initiative and has introduced privacy for scrapbook access, album(i.e Images) access as well as Video access. You can do this by going to the settings link in the left corner of your screen and then going to the “Privacy Tab”.

Another good thing that orkut has introduced is the Ask questions feature where in your friends can answer to questions that you have asked. Another thing that is noteworthy is the updates feature, where in you know the latest updates about your friends! This is very effective especially when your friends list goes into hundreds;)

I personally feel that orkut is standing up to the stiff competition from MySpace and Facebook as well as linkedIn when it comes to professional networking and the only thing that orkut should actively work upon is the OpenSocial API which is still in Beta and takes limited developers. I hope they open it for public as soon as possible.

Fix Task Manager/Registry Problem

Problem:-

When i try to access my task manager(Ctr+Alt+Del)...it displays message
'task manger has been disabled by ur administrator'..., and also i cant access my registry too..!!
what may have caused this problem....
is it becos of some VIRUS...????
how can i repair this without re installing...?? any particular software??

Solution:-

1: Close the IE browser. Log out messenger / Remove Internet Cable.
2: To enable Regedit
Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
3: To enable task manager : (To kill the process we need to enable task manager)
Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
4: Now we need to change the default page of IE though regedit.
Start>Run>Regedit
From the below locations in Regedit chage your default home page to google.com or other.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
HKEY_USERS\Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
Just replace the attacker site with google.com or set it to blank page.
5: Now we need to kill the process from back end. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del
Kill the process svhost32.exe . ( may be more than one process is running.. check properly)
6: Delete svhost32.exe , svhost.exe files from Windows/ & temp/ directories. Or just search for svhost in your comp.. delete those files.
7: Go to regedit search for svhost and delete all the results you get.
Start menu > Run > Regedit >
8: Restart the computer. That’s it now you are virus free.

it works !!

Restoring even when the Firefox is closed normally

heyy Friends...here's another techie stuff for you people... As most of you will be using firefox as their defaul web browser then here a special stuff for you... Ever felt like you want to restore the previous session the last time you browsed, even after closing the browser normally last time...here's the technique... check out:- There are two methods

1)Normal way:-

Go to Tools --> options --> main --> select "Show my windows and tabs from last time" from the drop down menu of When Firefox starts.

2)Twisty way:-

Type about:config in your address bar and search for browser.startup.page -- right click on it ,go to modify and set the value to 2 If you want to restore it.


Browser.startup.page values and their functions :

0:- Start with a blank page (about:blank)

1:- Start with the webpage defined as home page. (Default)

2:- Load the last visited page/Resume the previous browser session (Firefox only, implemented after Firefox 2 beta 1)

FIND WHO IS INVISIBLE ON YAHOO MESSENGER

Hiiii friends....am with another intresting stuff...
i know how you would feel when some one ignores you when you are in yahoo chat..most common way to ignore is make the status as offline....
lets put an end to the drama....here the trick to find who is invisible @ yahoo..........

Firstly open your yahoo messenger main window and double click on the name of the person whom you want to check.The chat window will open obviously.

Click IMVironment button, select See all IMVironments, select Yahoo! Tools or Interactive Fun, and click on Doodle.
After loading the Doodle imvironment there can be two possibilities

1.If the user is offline Doodle are will show this "waiting for your friend to load Doodle" continuously .See in the picture below:


2. If the user is online (but in invisible mode), after few seconds (it can take up to one minute, depending on your connection speed), you should get a blank page like in the picture below.So you know that the user is online.


Ho so friends...just login to yahoo messenger and find out who is hiding from you....
and folks who are hiding....."THE GAME IS OVER"

How to prevent your pen drive from getting infected with Virus ?

Hiii friends....how you doing..hope you people enjoys the technical stuff posted around here...
Also if you need any help on any techie stuff feel free to post a comment...I will try my level best to post the solution here...

Friends many of your PC/laptop's normally gets virus because of Pen Drives or USB devices (Even PC's who are not connected to network ). Some Virus like Ravmon Virus , Heap41a worm which are not detected by anti virus normally spreads mostly by the Pen Drives . In such a case what can you do to prevent your PC from getting infected with Virus that spreads through USB devices or Pen Drives ?

You can protect your PC by just following the simple steps below . It won't take much time.

• Connect your Pen Drive or USB drive to your computer .
• Now a dialogue window will popup asking you to choose among the options as shown in the figure.
• Don't choose any of them , Just simply click Cancel .
• Now go to Start--> Run and type cmd to open the Command Promt window .
• Now go to My Computer and Check the Drive letter of your USB drive or Pen Drive. ( E.g. If it is written Kingston (I:) , then I: will be the drive letter .)
• In the Command Window ( cmd ) , type the drive letter: and Hit Enter .
• Now type dir/w/o/a/p and Hit Enter.
• You will get a list of files . In the list , search if anyone of the following do exist .

1. Autorun.inf
2. New Folder.exe
3. Bha.vbs
4. Iexplore.vbs
5. Info.exe
6. New_Folder.exe
7. Ravmon.exe
8. RVHost.exe or any other files with .exe Extension .
   

• If you find any one of the files above , Run the command attrib -h -r -s -a *.* and Hit Enter.
  
• Now Delete each File using the following Command del filename ( E.g del autorun.inf ) .
  
• That's it . Now just scan your USB drive with the anti virus you have to ensure that you made your Pen Drive free of Virus .
  

Now Unplug your Pen Drive or USB device and Plug it again to your Laptop/PC . Before removing your Pen Drive from others Computer , Don't forget to search for .exe files using the Windows search and remove them .

Is your right click context menu showing some Chinese scripts ? Is your show hidden files and folders not working ? Is your command prompt , Registry Editor and task manager disabled ??

If all these things are happening to your Computer , the reason is that it has got infected by a virus named " RAVMON " .What can this Virus do ??

• Disables task manager , Registry Editor and Command prompt .
  
• Right click menu shows some Chinese scripts as shown in the figure.
• Computer shutdown automatically and slogs a lot.
• Folder Options disappear
• Show hidden files and folders Option won't work.

With all these things not working , I can understand what can go with you !! I saw this thing on my PC . Then only I decided to write the solution for this.So how are you going to remove this ?

How to remove the virus " Orkut is Banned , You Fool. The administrators didnt write this program..guess who??Muhahahah .. "

Trying to open orkut on your PC ?? Is your PC giving you a popup message " Orkut is banned you fool , the administrators didn't write the program .. guess who ?? Muhahahah ... " . Irritiated by this ?? Some of my reader has got this problem and he sent me a message asking for help . Here is the solution :

About the virus :

The name of the virus is W32/AHKHeap , It basically creates a folder with the name heap41a in C drive that will be disguised as system folder with hidden attributes enabled and copies all its contents in that heap41a folder.The running process that is responsible for this is svchost.exe and it will be spawned under user name.The virus will even make a entry into your registry so that it can run every time the system is started . This spreads mostly through pen drives .

How to get Rid of this :

Most of the antivirus leave this virus unnoticed . I personally tried 3-4 antivirus on this . None of them detected it. So you have to remove it manually .

• Go to your task manager by pressing ctrl + alt + del .In that go to processes tab .
• In that look for svchost.exe . You might find more than one of them . In that look for those who have user name as your login name of computer and end those processes .
• Now open My ComputerIn the address bar, type C:\heap41a and hit enter. It is a hidden folder, and is not visible by default.Delete all the files in this folder .
• Now go to Start –> Run and type Regedit , Go to the menu Edit –> FindType “heap41a” here and press enter. You will get something like this “[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt”Select that and Press DEL. It will ask “Are you sure you want to delete this value”, click Yes. Now close the registry editor and you are done .

Precaution :

Before inserting any kinda pen drive in your pc , just delte the autorun.inf file in it and delete any .exe files that exist in it .

1. Do not provide photocopies of both the sides of the credit card to anyone. The card verification value (CVV) which is required for online transactions is printed on the reverse of the card. Anyone can use the card for online purchases if the information is available with them.



2. Do not click on links in email seeking details of your account, they could be phishing emails from fraudsters. Most reputed companies will ask you to visit their website directly.



3. While using a credit card for making payments online, check if the website is secure The CVV will also be required.



4. Do not give any information to persons seeking credit card information over phone



5. Notify your bank / credit card issuer if you do not receive the monthly credit card statement on time. If a credit card is misplaced or lost, get it cancelled immediately.

One of the most full featured Windows XP configuration tools available is hidden right there in your system, but most people don't even know it exists. It's called the Local Group Policy Editor, or gpedit for short. To invoke this editor, select Start and then Run, then type the following:

gpedit.msc

After you hit ENTER, you'll be greeted by gpedit, which lets you modify virtually every feature in Windows XP without having to resort to regedit.

Expand all & check out for yourself......You can enable or disable just any "any" kind of feature in your windows system.....no need to edit the registry.
From disabling Logoff(not even using any method, including programs run from the command line, such as scripts.) .....to......configuring network connections,ip configuration....

how to Change someone's windows password :

This hack works if you are at someone else's home and you are logged into the account of the person whose account you want to hack. This also works if you want to hack someone else's account on your pc but do not know his/her password.

Click on START-->RUN.

Type compmgmt.msc & press enter.

In the left pane, select COMPUTER MANAGEMENT--> SYSTEM TOOLS--> LOCAL USERS AND GROUPS--> USERS.

Then in the right pane, select the user name whose account you want to hack. RIGHT

CLICK and then click on SET PASSWORD from the pop-up menu.

Enter the new password. Click on OK.

MULTIPLE GOOGLE TALK LOGINS

Follow these simple steps:

* Create a shortcut of your Google talk.
* Right click the shortcut ----> choose Properties.
* In the "Target" you will find this

"C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe"

Assuming you have installed in C:

* Now at the end of target add this "/nomutex" without the quotes.
* It should be like this

"C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe" /nomutex

There is a space after googletalk.exe"

Thats it .Click OK and you can open more than one Google talk.
